Herman Cain for President?

Most bills are hundreds or thousands of pages long. Herman's pretty much admitting that he hasn't got the patience to read that much.

This line of complaint from the right is just sad. It's one thing for Joe the Plumber to say, "damn, those bills are long," but for our representatives to complain about it? That's their goddamn job (I should also point out that bills are written in HUGE font. A 2,700 page bill is really something like a 500-800 page novel).

That would be like hiring a lawyer that complained, "Why are all these statutes and cases so long? I want everything condensed into comic book form."

I'm not even sure where this comes from. Have we just decided that everything we do must be targeted to the dumbest among us?

Wait a minute.

Was Obamacare not passed with many members of congress admitting they hadn't read it all?

While his 3-page solution is unrealistic, I do think that much legislation is needlessly complex. In particular, I get really annoyed with tacking a bunch of unrelated issues onto a single bill.

Oh, and the immigrant problem? Electric fences and (really) alligators.

Call me crazy, but I think I'd prefer that the alligator-filled moat be on the other side of the wall.

1) If true, that's their fault. We expect grad students to read twice that much on a weekly basis. It's their goddamn job.

2) Every portion of that bill had been debated for more than a year.

3) There was a month's time between the Health Care bill's passage in the House and the reconciliation process with the Senate that ultimately put it on Obama's desk. That's a MONTH to read half of a Harry Potter novel.

Whining about the length of that bill (or any other bill) is a pure acknowledgment by the speaker that they do not possess the necessary mental capabilities to be a legislator.

It just gets better. Heck, I don't even need to spin this. Herman does all the heavy lifting.
Herman Cain said:
I never said I would discriminate against Muslims or any other religion for that matter, but I am going to take extra precautions if a Muslim person who is competent wants to work in my administration.

No, Herman. That's not discrimination. In fact, just substitute the word "Black" for "Muslim" and you'll see how clearly that is perfectly non-discriminatory.

Yea, it's amazing how bigots don't understand their own bigotry. He was asked if he'd require an oath of loyalty from any Christians, to which Cain said "No." I believe the interviewer was really trying to hint to Cain to say "Yes."

He had few votes anyway from the atheist lefty-libs here (and elsewhere), but that stance might be worth an extra few million votes from Republicans and Independents.

That and the alligator moat.

Keep right on laughing though.

Might get a few Republicans. Not many independants, except those who are independant because the GOP is too left-wing for their tastes. It's kind of a sad commentary on the GOP that this sort of bigotry plays well with too many of them.

I will. I will laugh my damn ass off if he gets the nomination.

And you'll die laughing if he wins.;)
First things first. He's first got to show that he can win the nomination. Based on his performance so far and the fact that he has to battle a small but significant number of intransigent racists at the core of the GOP, I'd say even that is highly unlikely.

But I must admit, I'd love to see him debate one-on-one with Obama.

If that happened I don't think "debate" would be the right word to describe it.

Unmitigated verbal massacre would be a better descriptor.

And an even sadder commentary on too many lefty-libs who pretend multicultural bs is in the US's best interests.

Hilary vs Cain would be fun. I doubt Obamao is a shoo-in for the nom.

You think a unicultural nation would be better? Seriously?

Who's running against him? One guy nobody ever heard of. No, it is incredibly rare for a party to dump a sitting president who is running for reelection.

But then, after some of your comments, I'm not even sure you're not just pulling our collective legs.
