If we go on Sunday around noon how long would the trip likely last? Three or Four hours, I guess?

The current program schedule has the last speaker, Stephen Novella, until 1:15 and then some closing remarks. Then they have lunch on your own. Not that we have to stay for all of that, mind you.

Let's make the trip for Sunday afternoon-- maybe leave around noon. We'll just go out for the scenic drive, I think, since it will probably be too hot to hike. But I can point out some geology things along the drive. As long as the group is small (one or two cars) I doubt we need to contact that number. If for some reason there's a huge interest in the tour, then we can contact the park people.

Who's willing to drive the guide (aka me)? Preferably a non-creepy person I've met in real life .

Also, if you want to come on the tour, please reply below so I have a headcount.

Seems like not really the kind of thing that can be done strictly as a driving tour... It may be too hot for extensive hiking, (of course, I'm insane and rode my bike 12 miles a day before the conference every day last year) but I hope we could find a few interesting spots to stop and get out and wander around, much like we did for Death Valley a few years ago.

I've got a full-sized car booked, I'm interested, and I'm less creepy than Wowbagger Should be able to seat 5 comfortably, but El Spec should probably get the passenger seat. We long-limbed people are not made for modern society.

I appreciate that, but if I go, I will probably drive my own truck, with hcmom riding shotgun. While long hikes in 110 weather aren't gonna happen, I would like to at least get out, take photos, etc.
