Evidence for why we know the New Testament writers told the truth.

What's incredible is that the Hordes of the Undead, including Jesus, managed to create one of the most Horrid, Cannibalistic, and Sadistic Death Cults of all time, and fool all the Christians into believing that somehow this is evidence of a Kind and Loving Deity...
I wish famous Civil War era escaped slave and abolitionist Frederick Douglas was alive to back me up against you guys. He wanted everyone converted to Christianity.

Oh noes ! Short of the pizza party 500 pages / 20000 post !
I don't know if I can morally justify padding a basically silly thread just to achieve some arbitrary post number goal.

It's not as if DOC had anything interesting to say in the first place. Why should this thread be immortalized?

As a testament for human stutborness (on all side).

Oh and by the way : Hi DOC !

What's this supposed to mean? Some blacks were devout Christians despite the support for slavery by rebel Bible thumpers. This fails as an apology for what happened in history. What makes you think that Frederick Douglas wouldn't despise your position if he were alive today?

I guess any holy book can support any atrocity. This is probably a decent argument against holy books in general.

I am pretty sure we can find good people wishing to convert everyone to Islam, or good people wanting to covnert everyone to Buddhism , probably even escaped slave. So what ?

This has any bearing to this thread :
Something about writing truth and testament writer. Something something.
I forgot since by now this has never happenned.

Nope, not "evidence for why we know the New Testament writers told the truth."

Anyway, now that you're back, perhaps you can answer my question:

Was the author of Matthew 16:28 telling the truth when they wrote that Jesus said that some of the people he was addressing would still be alive when he returned?

Frederick Douglas?

Do you think famous Civil War era scientist and abolitionist Charles Darwin would back you up?

Even if you spelled his name right?

The adversarial nature of this thread is solely the result of your shockingly bad apologetics, DOC.

The proper course to have been followed was for you to simply present for discussion the evidence that you claimed existed before the thread was even begun.

Your failure to follow this logical course of action is hardly likely to be redressed by now attempting to introduce completely off-topic and evidence-for-the-NT-free proselytising by someone with the same agenda that you've failed with so spectacularly yourself.

He wanted everyone converted to Christianity.

So did Tomás de Torquemada. So bloody what?

Because of the 17,000 posts that DOC didn't make?

It's almost as if DOC doesn't actually pay any attention to the stuff he cites as references for his drivel.

If he did, he probably would have noticed this, from one of the sites he linked in his last post:

He became the first African-American to hold high office in the United States government. His Autobiography opens a thrilling window on the times. Although confessing himself a Christian to the end, Frederick rejected the church of the day, which had permitted - even endorsed - slavery. How could a slaveholder profess to believe in grace while he brutally held and abused slaves?

Christian History Timeline

It seems to me that if Mr Douglass had been posting in this thread he would have been squarely opposed to DOC.

And so the hilarity continues . . .

We seem to have found a certain amount of evidence that they weren't.

Using DOC's definition of evidence, everyone, including DOC, must come to the conclusion that the NT writers were lying through their teeth.

DOC, would you refresh our memories on your definition of evidence, please?

429 to go.

428. DOC is avoiding this thread in favour of posting on other threads. Why?

Obviously he was talking about the Southern Churches (i.e. the Southern Methodists of that time broke off from the national Methodists over the slavery issue). The south believed it was doing God's will, but if they were right and were doing God's will then God's side lost. Translation: they weren't doing God's will unless God is a loser.

Well I guess if Joobz can talk about slavery 40 or so times in here. I can talk a few times about it too.

Obvious???

Please provide a link to the source of this 'obvious' information.

Same with Nazi Germany I guess, but what in the Aten's name does that have to do with evidence for why we know the New Testament writers told the truth?

Ergo . . . ?

To whom?

ETA: How many times does this make that you've been busted going back and editing a post after someone else has quoted it? It's only a minor correction on this occasion, but it speaks to your general honesty, and it's not saying very nice things.

How come people never say this when joobz brings up slavery 40 or so times in here -- double standard?

I'm done with this issue of slavery if everyone else is done too.

This is evidence that the New Testament Authors told the truth because . . . ?

Joobz didn't start this thread with claims of evidence the NT authors told the truth. That was you.

Got any yet?
