Dude crucifies himself

Didn't anyone tell him he was supposed to wait until May 21st?

Well, that would have been a bit too late, no? If nothing spectecualr now happens on the 21st, we should all be very thankful to this guy's noble sacrifice!

(How dreadful to think that this particular bit of lunacy should have driven him to commit suicide the way he did. But then, it is actually quite dreadful no matter what.)

I'm sure the directors of Saw will be making a movie out of this sooner than we expect.

So... ya think it would it be too harsh to call this guy a fundie? ;)

It's really sad, that's what it is.
Do you think that Jesus Christ expiration was actually a suicide by self-crucifixion? This seems to be impossible, coz you eventually run out of free limbs to complete the act. BUT ... !

Jesus looked at them and said, “With man this is impossible, but with God all things are possible.”
Matthew 19:26

Is epix now arguing that this guy was only able to pull it off with God's help?

Just really sad.

Well, yes. But if you can't find humor in a horrible death, I can't think of an appropriate end to this sentence.

Seriously, though, I don't really think this event says anything about religion in general or Christianity in particular. Mental illness does often manifest itself in a religious fashion, but that's because religion is a significant part of some people's lives so when they go crazy that's how it shows up. The other big ones for the mentally ill are sex, death, and health. All large concerns of the human psyche, for most of the population. You can't blame the symptom of someone's mental illness for being the cause of it, that's backwards.

Kim is believed to have nailed his feet to the cross, tied his neck to it and stabbed himself in the side. He is then believed to have drilled holes in his hands and slipped them over nails on the cross...

This doesn't add up. What would stop his hands from just "slipping" back off again?

Toggle bolts?

Respectfully,
Myriad

No, assuming he existed at all, his expiration occurred because he was a cult leader who got sideways with the Romans and the Local Jewish leaders and was either too crazy or too stupid to un**** himself.

At work I sometime say about people who seem to wish to destroy their own careers that they'd crucify themselves if they could ever get the last nail in. I'm thinking maybe I need to stop that one now after seeing that you can in-fact get the last nail in.

Who knows what he's now arguing. He rarely makes any sense.
Instead of using so much acclaimed crititical thinking, you are wasting JREF hard disk on unrelated matters of trivial character. The cops said that it was a suicide and therefore the act must have been a miracle. Fortunately, the incident took place in South Korea and not in North Korea, which is an atheist state. Had it been the other way around, then a severe problem would have developed: Since the atheists are always righteously correct on religion-related matters, the escape hatch of infallibility would be closed and the impossible act of self-crucixion would become an official miracle.

It was no miracle. The article explains how it was probably done.

So a cordless drill is a miracle?

In the name of the Black and of the Decker and of the rechargeable battery pack, Amen.

I suppose the most interesting element is the comment the stab wound killed him. I would have thought he'd bled to death long before that

Good to see he cancelled his cell phone contract - good planning. Dont want extra unwanted charges to appear
