So you have no full theory. Got it. Give me some details of your working hypothesis. How does it differ from the official story?

It is, according to the source, pointed at 260-265 deg west. The elevation is stated as 0.5-2 degrees, but looking at the picture, I would estimate it to be nearer 5-10. At any rate, it is plausible that this direction will intercept a geostationary orbit, somewhere. Where that is requires a bit of math, and much more precise data. It is not a very large disk, so it is doubtful that they can get a reasonable signal; not only is the low beam noise-prone, but it is way out of a satelite's normal beam.

But, of course, the disk may be adjustable, in which case its present heading gives little clue to what it was used for.

By the way, why would a satellite dish be non-functional if at 0.5 to 2 degrees? Wouldn't that depend on how just-over-the-horizon the satellite is?

As you can see I am ignorant about these things and am by no means pushing any conspiracy theory here. I just find it touches on a subject I'd like to know a bit more about.

Geosynchronous satellites are over the equator, not quite 3 earth diameters out. So the elevation angle of a directional antenna pointing at one will be proportional to your latitude.
Geosynchronous satellites appear to stand still relative to a point on the rotating Earth's surface. In other orbits, satellites move relative to the ground, and you have to "slew" the antenna (change where it's pointing) to stay pointed at them and in communication with them.
ETA: I was thinking two-dimensionally, so MRC_Hans is probably more correct than I am.

Because it would be absolutely groundbreaking. NO truther has even come close to being able to state a plausible hypothesis for what happened on 9/11. It would definitely qualify as the "something new" that Mackey is requesting.

I think one of two things is true about your hypothesis:

1. It is so silly that you are embarrassed to reveal it, or
2. It doesn't exist, which makes you a liar.

Feel free to prove me wrong.

It's simple, it's easy. Just state your hypothesis.

But you won't, will you?

Of course not.

Next, you will respond with a weak excuse why you will not do this very simple thing.
 
The truth movement isn't dead just because there was a big turnout to celebrate the alleged death of Bin Laden.

Speculating is OK. Making stuff up is OK. Just give us a plausible alternative hypothesis for what happened on 9/11. Something that won't make every third-grader in the world shake their heads and say, "No way!"

You don't have to know it all. Just tell us how it MIGHT have happened.

I can't even begin to think of anything that would fit the evidence better than the "official story", and neither has any truther. NONE. Not even the most brilliant minds in the movement.

Dylan Avery couldn't think of a plot for his movie, that's why he turned it into a documentary.

Nice job - moving the goalposts and being a hypocrite at the same time. You demanded evidence for the claim. It was provided without hesitation for you.

9/11 Truthers claim that the WTC were demolished - but they can produce no evidence that anybody ever planted these alleged devices. You ask for proof that Richard Gage is a paid shill for 9/11 Truth, yet you do not demand any such proof for your claims.

It's about time you truthers started applying your own demands to your own claims. Otherwise you're just hypocrites, aren't you?

Moving the goalposts is suddenly demanding that I provide salary figures for demolition teams. It's so silly it isn't even really worth discussing further. Do you think if such a team existed that there would be time sheets for them? Stop wasting both of our time by writing such nonsense.

I didn't shift goalposts. When I spoke of irrelevance I was referring to your demand for demolition team salaries.
