He was unarmed. Doesn't matter. I'm still betting that the operator who pulled the trigger on him didn't know who he was shooting at the time.
Yes a capture might have been nice, but capturing someone who "loves death" isn't exactly an easy thing to do when the bullets are flying. Besides, we did get lots of Intel from there, maybe it was decided by the higher ups that he wasn't needed alive since it would be safe to assume he'd have all kinds of records there. Hope I'm still around when they decide to de-classify it.
