Just thought I'd start a thread for of we Glen and Glendas out there who want to meet, organize an event or just hook-up at TAM.

Say hello.
 
Hello! Sweet. I was just asking about this last night, and up comes a thread for me. Nice. :)

So yeah, I'd love to attend a get-together or whatever. There are NO gay people out my way, so any interaction would definitely be a welcome change.
 
The site stay much more organized when subtopics become their own threads.
There are already several roommate threads which could be grouped under a single topic, but it seems that it's too late for that now.

Anyhow, keeping this thread up may help to get an event going. The gay bars in Vegas are less than spectacular, drag shows are pretty big out there and I am not a big fan.
 
An LGBTQ TAM meet-up sounds like a fun idea. It could be as simple as meeting in the Del Mar lounge at a certain time or at one of the restaurants in the hotel.

I'm thinking Friday Evening meet-up at the Del-Mar.
And silly 80's dancing in the showroom with the Spazmatics on Saturday.
 
Still need to make it to a TAM. When I do, I'm in for the GLBTQIQFFWTFBBQ gathering.
 
ok but the Del Mar is usually filled with TAM people! So there might be some overflow! I wonder if one of the smaller meeting rooms might be a good plan if one can be had for not a lot of money? Even put out a donation jar? Del Mar is such a generic meeting place that it would be hard to have something "just for us" there.

Well, we allowed some Honourary Canadians into the Del Mar Lounge Canadian Meetup, so I suppose some Gay For Tam hangers on are to be expected... unless there's some sort of test for admission...

Your best bet might be to do a dinner in one of the restaurants, or upgrade your room to a suite and throw a party. Hell, reserve one of the suites for one night, and a regular cheap room for the rest of the weekend.

That sounds great! I will wear my Awesome 80s Outfit to get my brain in the mood. Now if only someone would bring an original NES so I could play Contra at 2am when I'm still wired from sugar consumption and gambling...
 
If the Del-Mar is too much of a mob, we can choose an alternate. I don't remember exactly where the other bars/lounges are on the casino floor and I can't seem to find a list on the South Pointe website. Does anyone have a floor plan or can they sketch one?

That's also missing the Silverado Bar, which would be just above the "17" label. That might be a good alternative.

Also check out the expansion, as it apparently has some new venues that might suit.

Edited floorplan. Note: "Other bar" is apparently the Silverado.

But... the Silverado is the steakhouse, and it has it's own walls. The Catalina is in the middle of the game floor. Maybe they changed the name, but I may be wrong here.
