And yes, actually, there were edits to the document text. I'm being completely serious, and you can verify this yourself. I don't have Quartz, but I have Illustrator, and if you do Windows->Actions->Links, you can see what sections of text were edited. That doesn't tell you what it was like before the edit, and in fact it doesn't even tell you that the edit changed any content. I would guess that the edits were simply to make the document more legible. But it has been edited.

I respect your view and want to agree. However, this entire thing with Obama has made as much traction as it has BECAUSE of racism. Not racism because he's black, but racism because he's of Muslim African decent. As I stated above, I have personal experience with having people doubt one's citizenship simply because they are brown.(not mine, but my wife's and many friends) Worst of it happened in Tennessee. I agree opportunism is a good argument for those like Trump. But the birther view holds sway with many Americans and it is important to shed light on the root cause.

I do not believe the other conspiracies (e.g., Bill Ayers being his best buddy) are racism driven. But this one... this one definitely is.
 
If Trump decides to run he will get slaughtered over this. Yeah you got the president to release the certificate but it proved you and your nutty theories wrong. Forget all the other insane ideas he has about Iraq and China. He has lost before he even entered. And I doubt now that he'll enter. It messes up my predictions in the 2012 thread but I can't see him entering.

After seeing an interview The Don gave to some US network in which he stated that his people in Hawaii were finding out some very interesting facts in relation to the Prez's birth, will he now say 'You're fired' to them? 'Cause, surely he wouldn't have been making stuff up for the cameras now, would he?

Trump doesn't have a prayer, and never did. He has more political and personal skeletons in his closet than Huey Long. And all of the other GOP-ers (except Tea Partiers) are saying, "Please just shut up." He is tarring them all with the same brush full of crazy.

That's what he wanted commies to think. That was a collusion between Obama and his more moderate supporters. They all knew he's not a commie, but the commies didn't know it. And to keep the commies in the dark a little longer, he appointed Van Jones to some powerless "Czar" position before unceremoniously forcing the albatross to figuratively walk the plank.

And all that talk about closing Gitmo and beginning the pullout from Iraq on the first day of his presidency was more leftie-bait, causing he lefties to excitedly imagine a precipitous vindication. Then he apparently executed a Jedi hand-wave to block from the lefies collective consciousness all his frank declarations that he intended to escalate in Afghanistan. Then he cunningly prevailed on the Pentagon to ask for more troops in Afghanistan, and then pretended to stall for a while to make it look like he really didn't want to do it. Then he did it. Then he rammed through a health care package, all 2000 unread pages, while he still had the votes in congress, to be implemented some time in the future, probably never to be implemented in it's present form. But there it is, serving as a huge bargaining chip if nothing else. Then he agreed to extend the Bush tax cuts, citing the recession and the need to compromise with the resurgent Republicans in order to extract concessions from the recalcitrant mob.

He's smart and he learns fast. Screw politics. Screw ideology. That's all crap. Anyone who could so completely flummox so many people as to what he is actually about, to the point where a majority of them actually voted for him in the belief that he was going to do the opposite of what he actually did, deserves another 4 years. Because he might figure out how to do the job. And if he does figure out how to do the job, he's gonna be ba-a-ad.

So let him keep the job. Unless he gets killed or we find someone better.

He had to use Presidential authority to override a Hawaii law. Something I would generally hope Presidents don't do with great haste.
