Are you laboring under the impression that nobody knew Jews in Poland were being concentrated in camps or that Jews from around Europe were being sent to Poland?

EVERYONE WAS AWARE THAT JEWS WERE BEING DEPORTED!

Anyway, what happened to them once they got there was far less known. Which evokes the question of whether you even know what role Poland and Polish territory even played in the war.

And the Polish people who lived near the Polish camps had no clue or could care less what went on in the camps. The German soldiers to a man didn't care. The German guards to a man didn't care. The Germans that the soldiers and guards wrote to during the war couldn't care less.


That's the enormity of the Holocaust lie. By necessity every German and every Pole and every person in proximity has to be painted as unfeeling as the Holocaust liars.

Lance-corporal Albert Rodenbusch, 635th Training Regiment, on events in December 1942in Belorussia.

On the evening of 29 December 1942 we started our operation in a village. There were no partisans in this village. The people from the village provided us with heated rooms and gave us food, so we were very surprised when the company commander later ordered us to burn down the village and arrest the village people. So 50 inhabitants were taken prisoner. . . . We then moved onto another village. . . . On our arrival we came under fire from rifles. . . . We shot about 70 people. Among them also women, old people and children. And then we burned down the village. . . . We then proceeded to the third village. We didn't come across any partisans there. Completely untrue. On both counts.

Diaries of Jews in ghettos are replete with mentions of "decent" and helpful Germans, including police and other authorities who sometimes "looked the other way" or did small things, on the sly, to ease what was happening to ghetto inmates. The stereotype which Clayton is peddling is inane.

On either 16 or 18 of May 1942, Sobibor became fully operational and began mass gassing operations. Trains entered the railway station, and the Jews onboard were told they were in a transit camp, and were forced to undress and hand over their valuables. To add one more small example of how widely news of the murders dispersed: Victor Klemperer, restricted to a Jews House in Dresden and denied access to reading material and news reports, forced to wear a yellow star and segregated and isolated from society, managed to find out enough about the actions in Poland to confide to his diary in fall 1942 that he had heard that Auschwitz was "a swift-working slaughterhouse."

Let's say, for the sake of argument, that your comment is correct. Does that in any way absolve the Nazi regime of the other crimes and atrocities it committed? Does the lack of a Holocaust in any way lessen the necessity of the Allies defeating the Third Reich?
