Moderated Obama birth certificate CT / SSN CT / Birther discussion

Meanwhile, in the real world, no-one talks about 'Birthers' anymore, from what I am able to deduce. Looks like it's still a good thing.

This quote is from October of 2009.

It's April 2011 and the leading republican presidential candidate is a birther.

FSM help us all.

Obama makes them crazy. Seemingly literally. Fact and logic go out the door, and standards --legal, ethical, political, logical --no longer apply. This is all really the new "Obama Exception" ... i.e. There is no standard that Obama can meet, no law that Obama is not either actively violating or can't set aside because he is president, there is no evidence or proof sufficient to beat an anti-Obama accusation, there is no story or falsehood made up about Obama that he should ignore or let pass without directly answering point for point...

This is really it. "Birthers" can't respond rationally to questions and challenges because their motivation isn't rational. That's why they can't believably resolve the conundrum of

(a) there's a giant conspiracy covering up Mr. Obama's origin, which has already produced a fraudulent birth certificate, co-opted or tricked witnesses to supposedly valid documentation, produced phony newspaper ads in 1961, covered up parentage and/or foreign travel, and subverted or conspired with the State of Hawaii, both major political parties, various law enforcement agencies, and presumably the American Philatelic Association (why? because they could),

(b) but of course they'd believe a "long form" document released by this very same giant conspiracy.

It's the latter claim that is the cherry on top of the whipped crazy of "birtherism".

Well, sure. They wouldn't want anyone to think they were being unreasonable.

There seems to be some questions as to the Social Security Number/numbers of President Obama and allegations of fraud.

Should this all be ruled out and dismissed entirely also?

Should anyone in The Press ask any questions about this?

Is this racist?

Good grief. You again.

:sighs deeply, shakes head, facepalm:

Why? I don't know him. He seems like a perfectly pleasant schmoozer and charmer. He must be to have gotten where he is...

OR he could have used intelligence, dedication and hard work.

As has been pointed out, it's part of the same conspiracy theory. The claim has been around for over a year and has already been debunked.

My question for you is this: How many times must you be taken in by the lies of the same group of people before you (1) begin to to question the validity of the stuff they claim rather than immediately buying into the idea that they may be on to something and (2) begin to question the motives of that group?

I mean, it could be possible that they are simply just gullible to the extreme. Right? Why do you, JudeBrando, keep buying into this stuff? Is it because Obama is a Democrat? Because he has a funny name that just happens to sound like an amalgam of the names of two of our enemies? Because he is a distant relative of Dick Cheney?

This, JudeBrando. Re-read it.

President Obama, if you were a tree, what kind of tree would you be?

Dunno, but I'm pretty sure you'd be a Caucasian Wingnut (Pterocarya fraxinifolia):

woot! Arizona bill VETOED!!!!

http://www.tucsonsentinel.com/local/report/041811_brewer_vetoes
"As a former Secretary of State (sic), I do not support designating one person as the gatekeeper to the ballot for a candidate, which could lead to arbitrary or politically-motivated decisions," Brewer wrote in her veto message to House Speaker Kirk Adams.

"In addition, I never imagined being presented with a bill that could require candidates for President (sic) of the greatest and most powerful nation on earth to submit their "early baptismal or circumcision certificates" among other records to the Arizona Secretary of State. This is a bridge too far," Brewer wrote.
and the birthers has a mad...they are going nutZ!!

A citizens petition to recall Jan Brewer and kick her out of office is under way. I need help of every tea party patriot to lobby the representatives and senators in AZ to have an emergency hearing tomorrow or day after tomorrow to overwrite Brewer’s veto, we need to get sufficient number of signatures for her recall. This despicable traitor is toast. There are a lot of extremely angry people to let this act of treason against the people to go unpunished.
And only last week, she was taking responsibility of having the bill created and praising the Senate and Jan Brewer for getting this bill written. Let the back pedal begin!

I like how birthers have an extremely loose interpretation of what treason entails, so loose in fact that the sheer act of disagreement becomes treason. Or in this case saving the state from an expensive court case that they will lose.

:eye-poppi Do some of them maybe feel a little uneasy at the extremes of this kind of language? Or are they just that far off the deep end?

A governor vetoing a bill is treason?

Heck at least he actually did something to earn the accusation of treason. 9/11 truthers have declared people guilty of treason just for not agreeing with their "evidence", no actual actions needed.

Its not like we don't have enough pending court cases to deal with thanks to our legislators. If Pearce gets his way we will be paying for court battles for decades to come. I can't believe I am going to say this but, "Thank you Jan!". She also vetoed a bill that would have allowed guns on campuses so I am sure there will be some help for orly from the gun lobby.

Jan Brewer is a woman.

So YOU say. :D

Wonder where the baggers have been on this recall thing? Everyone but the baggers has been talking about it for a while.

Yea, watching the cannibalism amongst republicans, teabaggers, and birthers is going to be a quite the show this election cycle. I wonder if we will have a "tea birther" splinter group?

you already have two camps, one that claims that he was born in Kenya and another that accepts that he was born in Hawaii, but claims he can't be president becuase his father was not a citizen.

either way it's out and out racism.

Then there are the no-forskinners," . . . .

Gotta give it up to Gov. Bruja though. She has really brought people together here. Now the left, the sane and the teabaggers all want her recalled. Wonder what her shelf life is?

I posted this in the politics forum but I am afraid Brewer doesn't want to run again and will clear the path for a new Palin governorship here in AZ. I am not sure if just Bristol or the whole Palin family is moving to AZ. Its too scary to think about.

I think if Sarah Palin establishes residency here, it's one of the Senate seats she's coveting. Kyl won't be running in 2012, and McCain is probably not going to run again. I'm just trying to decide who would be worse for a Senator, Sarah Palin or J.D. Hayworth?
