Do gods wonder where they come from?

Not one word of that is true.

It doesn't even make sense. If we're looking for believers to pounce on, but we aren't believers, how could any one of us be our own "next victim?"

Oh, we know what the joke really is, trust me.

I've seen a pack of wolves turn on each other to decide who gets the next bite of a reindeer carcase.

Of course, its all about chosing/finding your own perspective.

In this case it isn't the case of perspective at all. My original question is a variation of a counter argument I use against theists whenever the truck out their God as being 'the one true god' (I really hate being in America sometimes).

Than I'll go like "If you're God is as you say than is it not possible for him the one god to be the many infinite gods, is not possible for the many to be the one god? Or is it possible that the god is none?"

Ought to watch the poor religious folk go all slack jawed... priceless.

So? We aren't wolves, either.

When you go somewhere out in the world, and you find you don't care much for the people there, or their opinions, do you then stand around and start making ridiculous analogies meant to insult them? I bet that gets a lot of attention, if nothing else...

:duel

You act as if someone dragged you here and is forcing you to stay, in company for which you don't much care.

:dqueen

So, is this your new role? Instead of making ridiculous and virtually empty arguments that just keep getting shot down, you're going to engage in playground tactics?

I made an observation, its a bit like bible bashing here, I do prefer it though:)

Wow sorry teach I thought this was America.

No, this is the Internet.

And I believe gods are agnostic.

I quite enjoy the concept of an atheist god however.

In fact, since Gods do not have creators presumably they would and should be atheist?

The top God is, by definition, an atheist

OMG if God does not believe He has a creator, then He is, indeed, an atheist God. I love it!

You're going to make Santa cry.

Dude/dudette .... this thread hooked you in. Why willingly take the bait and then bash the one doing the fishing? Can't you find "real food" ?

Although maybe that is a new tactic fish should start taking. To get rid of all the fisherman, they should knowingly take the bait and then once aboard, gang up on the fisherman before suffocating. Maybe that's what happened to "god" when we underwent our fish-to-human conversion lol :)

I was telling Dylan2001 what he was in for if he was not careful. Seems he chose the best strategy and ran.

How much water can fit into the infinitely tall cup?

How much more water do you think can fit in a cup that is infinite in every possible way?

I have a cup that is infinitely big in every possible way. How many infinitely big cups in every possible way do I have?

He doesn't understand this: TMBG - One Everything

I know where I came from, I have parents.

But I ponder where they came from and so on back to the primordial soup.

However, if I was the FIRST, I would have no concept of prior or past as this dimension would not exist. Only the present and future would exist. The thought of where I came from could not happen.

But whether or not you capitalize the g differentiates the all knowing from any shmuck on the street. But how could the all knowing wonder where He came form if He exists wverywhere simuotaneously, I ask again.

An interesting proof that an omniscient god cannot be omnipotent, since being omniscient, there is something he can't do... wonder where he came from.

For those of you with capital letter fetish, note that this is a general argument, not constrained to any particular god, but true for any god with the quality of omniscience.
As far as I know, there is no compelling argument that omniscience is necessarily limited to a single entity.

Wow sorry teach I thought this was America. There's a place for you in Iran somewhere. Gotta go have fun.

I never said I believe in God I am simply trying to define what He or she would be.
I know others have pointed it out ... but there are so many things wrong with these two posts on so many levels. It's almost a bit mind boggling.

Typical close-minded skeptic.

Haven't made it to page 3 yet...but shouldn't it be "closed-minded?" Doesn't "close" mean, well...close?

And "closed" means closed as in a closed door as opposed to an open one?

I've always just sort of wondered as I see "close-minded" a lot and it doesn't sound right, somehow. :)

i dont know, but i wonder if they use special pleading like, I am the causeless cause of all causes :D

Then it would be:

"Why God?"
"Oh," <shrug> "no reason..."

Much better ;)
