I'm not worried. Or feeling the least bit guilty.
My carbon footprint will shrink dramatically once Bruce Power builds the four ACR-1000s they are planning for Alberta.
I don't give a damn.

No way does Germany ever run entirely on "renewables" that is just absurd. You have way too many electricity dependent manufacturing plants to do that.
Cavemen are those who don't have cheap electricity.
You should consider moving out of the way of those of us who do.
Your adding of the last sentence is a fine example why i should remind myself to always quote what i'm responding to on these forums, although i consider it to be a bit anal. I have to go back and do it far too often, but in your case i will not forget it again. Very dishonest.
We'll hug our trees and feel holier than you.
You have trees?
Why is it not good when people are able to decide them-self what kind of energy production they want in their country and which one not?
You do realise that electricity can be traded, especially in Europe, don't you? We won't have any blackouts. Unlike parts of the US - that's at least what I heard. Power will be just that wee little more expensive. Business as usual.
Sorry, in German only.

You can't even run on more than 10% renewables. You need baseload generation and load following generation that can respond to changes (nuclear can provide both, renewables can't provide either).
Otherwise you're just a transformer blowout away from living in the 1800s.
The electricity still has to come from somewhere though. So all you are doing is transferring the problem. Its ideologically nonsense to say we'll turn off our nuclear plants and buy electricity from French nuclear plants.

I'm not saying your wrong but I'm not up to speed with the idea that nuclear is a useful technology for responding to demand.
I don't give a damn.
I see your debating skills have improved.
Our main tabloid "Bild" did a little poll and found that 70% of Germans approve the shutting down of those reactors, while a whopping 81% consider the change of mind of the Merkel government to be "not credible".![]()
"IF 50 Million people say a foolish thing, it is still a foolish thing".
Attributed to Voltaire.
Technically speaking you can't actually substain that sort of building. Not without having the prices skyrocket to being completely unaffordable.Renewable energy in GermanyWP
The annual increase in solar production capacity in 2009 and likely 2010 was higher than the US' total output.
Mind your own business, cavemen.![]()
I'm sure there are grids that run on more than 10% renewables, aren't there? Could you expand on some of this? I'm not saying your wrong but I'm not up to speed with the idea that nuclear is a useful technology for responding to demand.
"If 65 million people say i'm dishonest and cuddling with the cartel, they are just making stuff up for political reasons".
Paraphrasing Angela Merkel.
COming from somebody who thinks Slobodan Milosevic was a misunderstood leader..
