what stops Israel from walking into gaza today? maybe stay around for a few hours and leave? answer is ....nothing. They could do it today, tomorrow...anytime. You would still be happy to say not occupied. Overflying?....no problems.

and under international law, they have every right to fly over, seal the borders, and send in troops.....for security purposes.

why do they have this right? because they are the Occupying Power, and shall remain such until a final peace accord is signed between Israel and Palestine.

....yes...I'm saying this alot. But only because some folks seem to wish to deny this as much as possible.

yes...thats the chant you guys have chosen....except even if there were a few combat boots in there you would still be happy to award the "non occupied" award.

You're making things up now.

Sounds like Israel should just destroy all of its' tanks and airplanes and put its soldiers back in the fields. Any sort of standing army can do any of that.

You may have expected that Israels moving of troops to the borders would have convinced the world that they are not in control of what happens to Gaza.....well, it certainly was enough for those that habitually stand to attention and salute israeli actions to stand to attention and salute.

It only controls airspace/borders/harbor because of Hamas. Remove Hamas, no reason to control airspace/borders/harbor.

Now please explain to everyone how you standing to attention, saluting and chanting the "no boots" chant makes any difference to the occupation status of Gaza?

Any other example of this sort of no-boots occupation?

Your definition of "occupation" presented in this post defines the United States, Russia, China, and several other states as occupation forces. Just as a simple example, how does your definition above affect the "occupied" status of Cuba, or indeed, Mexico or Canada?

They're lackeys of the Jews, of course.

And yes, there's actually people on this very forum who claim this.

The relationship between Hamas and Israel is of course complex. And yet simple. Whatever Hamas is and whatever it does, Israel is at fault.

What would non-occupation look like to you, Fool?

:boggled:

I'm not going to quibble over hypothetical scenarios. The MB doesn't seem poised to take over Egypt at the moment.
well of course you are not going to quibble about it because it defines the fatal flaw in your argument.... Revealing your position for what it is....a partisan apologist.

you pin everything on this stupid "no israeli boots in gaza" thing yet......If a few israeli boots were to go back into Gaza to secure borders then hey presto......still no occupation!!!

If israeli combat boots walk into Gaza for some military purposes today....still no occupation!! they must have some secret amount of time to get back to the safe zone...like children playing chasings in the playground.

Israel says no occupation, Wildcat salutes. Lucky Israel has not announced the moon is made of cheese. That would present you with some difficulties with compliance.

err...umm........you ARE aware that all of those supposed "occupations" are due to signed agreements between us and them, right?

please Mortimer, please tell us that you are fully aware that America's control of Guantanamo Bay was due to a long-ago signed treaty.

I'm gonna cry if you say "no".

well for one thing, if Gaza was no longer Occupied by Israel, they would have a UN representative that could file a formal complaint with the General Assembly, every time Israel does a military fly-over and violates their sovereign airspace.

What would non-occupation look like to you, Fool?
It would look like Israel not determining what happens to Gaza. A little bit like Israels non occupation of Lebanon....or syria...or egypt...or australia....

Israel is regarded as the occupying power.....cry if you like

Why should I cry? You look like the one throwing a tantrum.

The lack of Israeli combat boots on Gaza soil might be a clue.

son, have you anything to add to this thread besides this sort of stuff?

As far as I can see Israel is regarded as the occupying power by everyone in the world except two groups

1. Israeli government
2. apologists for Israel.

remind me....which group are you in?

sigh....I honestly can't see the point of this thread except to allow partisan apologists of Israel to practice their chants.

i think the denial in this thread is complete and self-sustaining. we should let the Revisionism entertain itself until it realizes it has no audience, but the mirror.

The Gaza Strip remains Occupied by Israel. Case-closed.

No.

You didn't read the post I quoted, did you? The Fool's definition of "occupation" is based on the ability of a country to enter another country with troops for a few hours, and it's ability to fly over that country. By that definition, the U.S. pretty much occupies every other country on Earth. As does China, Russia, Israel, UK, France, Germany, and probably several other countries. It's a useless definition.

Feel free to cry, if it makes you feel better for your lack of reading skills.
