Charlie Sheen thinks Being Sober is boring.....

I was forced to watch his show when I was on an airplane and I almost died from all the cliches and audience hand-holding. It was about as funny as beating up a hooker.

I am actually sad that he said the stuff about AA, because now when I say it I am going to seem as crazy as him.

I agreed with a guy on the radio who said it was sad that he lost his job for insulting his boss, and not for assaulting women.

Charlie's Today Show Interview..........

Wow.Just Wow.
The size of this guy's Ego must be that of Jupiter. No,make that the sun.
And this interview is Really going to help his public image.....
No, make that Uranus.

P.S. I still say Vince Vaughn could step right in. Or John Stamos. Or Luke Wilson, Michael J. Fox, Jack Black, Tony Danza, Ted Danson, David Hasselhoff, Dane Cook, William Shatner, Prince, Lady Gaga, Anne Rice, Glenn Beck. Anyone, really.

He looks and acts like he's doing amphetamine, like crank, meth, or ice. Which are basically all the same thing for the most part. Or else a lot of crack cocaine.

He may act like that, however he also acts very much like someone who is bipolar. Now that he has passed a drug test, I'm even more convinced that it the cause of his behavior, combined with long time prior abuse of alcohol and drugs.

Are you saying I act like Charlie Sheen?

I take great offense to that.

His face looks 20 years older than it should. That's not normal is it?? :boggled:

That was my first impression as well. He looks older than his father, heck, Kirk Douglas looked alot healthier the other night at the Oscars than he does.

He's right to criticise AA, at least.

I only saw part of the interview, and I agree that he seems a little manic, but most of what he said made sense. Taken out of context, a lot of his remarks seem more crazy than they sounded when I watched the interview. I have to agree with him on his views of AA. I also didn't think he looked older than his age, just kind of pale - no makeup, probably. A lot of actors look a lot older in person or in interviews than they do on-screen with a bunch of makeup and lighting.

I have never seen his show(s) and I am not a fan of his, I just don't quite get why everybody's asserting he's such a nut case. I didn't see it.

Well, the fact that he seems to be linked to the 9/11 truther movement should be evidence enough that he's a "nut case".

Apart from that, even if, as you said "most of what he said made sense", there's still some stuff that seems bizarre...

- Criticizing your boss (Lorre) in any way in a public forum is not a "good thing"?
- He's made bizarre claims about having offers to make a new series on HBO, which HBO denies. If you're trying to portray yourself as "stable", lying about things like that is not a "good thing"
- Threatening to sue CBS for hundreds of millions for "pain and anguish" is not a "good thing"

He looked unhealthy and a lot of what he said made no sense. As if his mind was racing. He was definitely on something.

Part II was on this morning, I tivo'd it. He was also on Piers Morgan last night, so I recorded it.

I really thing his drug abuse has done permanent damage to his mind. From what I have reading, his manic behavior is a common after effect of intense drug use..and it might be permanent.
It has been a long time since we have seen a train wreck like this. It's like Sheen wants to take every opportunity to scream "I am Freaking Crazy" to the world.

I don't get the time line here. I don't know in what order a handful of events happened: whatever the latest news story was about some drugged-up party of his, him saying sobriety (presumably along with being off of other drugs too) is boring, his show getting canceled, and him curing himself of drug addiction. Is the cure the more recent of these, or does one of the others happening since then indicate a relapse? And how long did curing himself take after the last known drug incident before the cure? And exactly which incident caused the show to be canceled (or was it due to something else that the rest of us don't know about)?

Anyway, based on what I saw in the interview clips, he's certainly still doing drugs, very likely to still be abusive, and certainly not going to stop either of them very soon. The wild head-bobbing, exaggeration of gestures & facial expressions & vocal intonations, and fidgeting that others have pointed out are only part of the reason I say that. There's also the angry defensive attitude about it; people who really change something like that discuss it afterward in a way that's distant and often regretful, but if not that, then at least calm and factual. Also, there's the "girlfriend", the other girlfriend who is always referred to as a "porn star", and the "ex-wife" who's still always around and goes on vacations with them and such. Clearly, he engages in this kind of behavior because it's what women have rewarded; in his experience, it's been proven to be the surest way to collect a harem. That means giving it up would mean giving them up, since they wouldn't tolerate the new version of him if he actually changed.
