Planned Parenthood Aids Pimp's Underage Sex Ring

Evidence that she helped brake the law, let alone used federal tax dollars to do it?

The part of the video where she writes down the name of someone that can help them without asking questions as to age, etc.

Her salary...I'm assuming...

...
As it is, these shame film makers had to invent a controversy, as was done with ACORN.

...

Another case in point. These insane people will SAY they believe in voter registration and enfranchisement of all Americans, but what they really believe is that only white people who agree with them ought to ever vote. The lies are so thick that they drip off their elbows.

There was no immediate medical emergency that warranted the employee helping the "pimp and his prostitutes" in that instant.

D was the correct response. C would be ok if it was an emergency and the "prostitute" was dying.

She can think whatever she wants...but when she uses federal tax dollars to help someone break the law, that crosses the line. PP agreed and they fired her.

It doesn't bother me. I don't think it's immoral when between two consenting Adults...in fact, I think it shouldn't be illegal at all.
Must be nice to live in a black and white world where one is so certain of their moral authority they can just know what decisions everyone should make.

BTW, without a medical exam, how do you know what medical care would be urgent? And without any medical education or experience whatsoever, how do you know what treatment is emergent, urgent or non-urgent?

because the "teenage prostitutes" they were discussing were not there...thus there wasn't an urgent medical need for an abortion.

btw, what moral debate is it you think you're having with me?

I'm pro-choice, I'm against criminalizing what happens between two consenting adults...so I can only surmise you may be questioning my belief that teenage prostitution is wrong.

Perhaps you think teenage prostitution is right and shouldn't be illegal and so you believe that helping a pimp and his teenage prostitutes is ok? If so, just say so.

you didn't watch the video...did you?

just admit it

Which one? The original, or the doctored footage?

Just kidding. I saw both, in order to verify that the doctored video was, in fact, deceptively altered.

How about this? Just point out to me the portion of the footage in which we can see someone attempting to help another commit a crime.

Upchurch: "Please provide evidence to back up your claims"

Me: "here's the evidence <evidence is provided>"

Upchurch: "So, no evidence then"

Me: "??? :boggled:"

He's saying what you supplied as evidence was not actually evidence of the claim. Hope that clears it up.

No, he's saying he doesn't like my evidence...but that doesn't change the fact that it's evidence.

Hope that clears it up.

@3:25 in the video:

PP employee: "So [the nurse practicioner will ask] 'how old is your partner?' You know, that kind of stuff. So that's where, you know-so-even if they LIE and just say, "Oh, he's the same age as me. Fifteen...fourteen and under we have to report...so as long as they just lie as long as they don't say they're fourteen."

No, he's saying he doesn't like my evidence...but that doesn't change the fact that it's evidence.

No, that's clearly not what he is saying. I'm sorry that it might confuse you that I didn't qualify the statement with, 'he doesn't believe what you posted constitutes' evidence.

Just like you didn't qualify your statement with, 'I believe it is evidence'. Actually, you called it a fact. So...

He doesn't believe it's evidence.

I believe it's evidence.

we have differing opinions.

awesome!

what seems to confuse you is that fact that there are people who have differing opinions than your own.

sorry, tyr_13, but you're going to have to come to grips with this concept...there are people who don't share your beliefs and opinions.

get used to it.

Try reading what I actually said. Here's a hint, it's exactly what you said.

lol...not quite.

It's like someone asking why you did something, "What's your excuse?"

An excuse is provided.

"That's no excuse!"

Sure it is...you just didn't like it!

'Not liking' it isn't likely to be the reason he doesn't consider it evidence. Do you consider it evidence because you 'like it'? Probably not. You found it convincing, someone else did not. That's a difference of opinion until one side can show the other is wrong.

now you ask the impossible! :)

we'll just have to agree to disagree.

but feel free to not agree to that either...

Really??

Planned Parenthood statement: "the employee in the video behaved in a repugnant manner that is inconsistent with our standards of care and is completely unacceptable."

You should quit arguing with me and go argue with PP...

It's amusing to me...you people are literally arguing that when a person approaches you and asks you to help them cover up their crime, you should just go along with it! *facepalm*

I am the one that should be facepalming. You continue to act like we are in favor of underage prostitution when, in fact, we are more concerned that girls in such dire straights get medical treatment until cops can rescue them. And simply telling the pimp to get lost will achieve neither.

That you continue to not understand this astounds me.

When someone asks you to help them cover up a crime, do you:

A) help them
B) don't help them
C) help them, but call the police
D) don't help them and call the police

I pick D

there was nobody there claiming they needed a life-saving abortion...there was no urgency to provide the "underage prostitute" with immediate care.

Why do you continue to ignore the fact that they indicated that there were other girls, ones not there, that probably needed help? Yeah the girl there was not in need of emergency help but she was, if she were a prostitute, in need of STD screenings, pregnancy tests and contraceptives. Because PP was not in a position to hold her or tell her how to live her life. All they can do is counsel you know.

It's not the abortion assistance I have an issue with...again, I'm pro-choice...it's the employee willingly, and to me nonchalantly, trying to help someone cover up a crime which she believed true.

Highlighted the important bit. Your subjective opinion on that matter is meaningless.

SkepticGinger, I don't need a medical education to know you don't willingly offer to help someone break the law.

There are thousand situations where a medical professional might have to look the other way about something in order for provide proper care. There is such a thing as ethical pragmatism you know. Like when you break the speed limit or run stop signs to rush someone to the hospital.

1) the video has credence because (a) PP admitted wrongdoing and fired the employee and (b) PP said they would change their training procedures

They fired her as a stupid PR move. I don't think they should have. If I ran a clinic for this type of service I'd gladly employ her.

2) it's desirable for some to not have their tax $ fund abortions. I also understand it's desirable for some to not have their tax $ fund wars too...so they try to defund the military. that's how the game is played.

And both sides are wrong in doing that. But you apparently come from the "two wrongs make a right" school of thought.

Me personally? Even though I am pro-choice, yes, I don't think my tax money should be used to fund abortions and in fact, by law, PP isn't allowed to do that.

Yes, I realize PP does more than just provide abortions.

Oh I see. You are pro-choice but anti-government.

Tell you what, deepatrax, why don't you leave us alone and go play in the Mad Max wasteland your ideologies uphold as utopia? That way you wouldn't have to deal with our stubborn belief that government isn't inherently evil. It might save you some stress.

because the "teenage prostitutes" they were discussing were not there...thus there wasn't an urgent medical need for an abortion.

That they were not there is precisely why she did the right thing. It was in the other girls interest to come in and get screenings and possibly needed treatment. And maybe, then, cops can be there to interview them. But if you scare off the pimp right from the start the likelihood of that happening is not good.

Perhaps you think teenage prostitution is right and shouldn't be illegal and so you believe that helping a pimp and his teenage prostitutes is ok? If so, just say so.

I don't think anyone in here has said anything in favor of teenage prostitution. You keep erecting strawmen so fast an entire generation of livestock might starve. Why do you hate the livestock?

Perhaps you think livestock genocide is right and shouldn't be illegal and so you believe that helping erect so many strawmen is ok? If so, just say so.

Don't feel like reading through all this BS, but why is this thread with obvious lies still alive?

Is there a Glenn Beck shill posting here?

http://mediamatters.org/research/201102180044

Does anyone with a couple of brain cells still believe this?

There are also those that let their irrational hatred of government cloud everything.
