There's a sort of convoluted claim that since he knows his birth weight, he can only know it from his birth certificate. However, since his birth weight isn't on the COLB, then therefore the long form must exist! File the suit ASAP!

Yes...but if he was born in Kenya, wouldn't he be refering to his Kilo weight? Doesn't the fact that he says it in lbs suggest that the super secrete birth document he got it from had it listed in lbs? Or, his mind is so facile that he can quickly convert from Kilos to pounds. My god! We're dealing with Dr. Evil!

BAC has a point. There is literally no other way to know your birth weight than to read it on your birth certificate. It's not the sort of thing parents remember, I'm sure.
I'm embarrassed to say I didn't immediately realize this comment was sarcasm. :boxedin:

I have no idea how much I weighed. All I know about my birth is that it was 11:00PM and that I was born backwards.

Let me assure you that wasn't "sufficient" to get you a "pretty high level security clearance". It may have been necessary but it was by no means sufficient. Not if they investigate applicants the way they used to investigate them. Probably every detail on that "copy" was independently confirmed. And you see, that's part of the problem with Obama's "copy". There appears to be difficulty confirming many of the details. Why there are even a number of people, including Obama's step-grandmother, who have stated they saw his birth ... in Kenya.

Not taking sides ... just noting the facts. :popcorn1

Incorrect. As I stated... I have gone through approximately four background investigations (one for my initial clearance, one for an upgrade, one when I needed it in the civilian world, and one for the reinvestigation). The computer copy of my birth certificate still suffices to prove my citizenship. The Office of Personnel Management (OPM) cannot go to the Ohio Department of Vital Statistics and demand to see the original copy of my birth certificate because that violates my right to privacy. Given the length of time since my birth there, I sort of doubt the hospital still has records of my birth kept on hand, so providing a copy of my birth certificate is all OPM needs. Because that document is notarized and signed by the registrar of vital statistics stating that the details on the document are true and factual and have been verified by a person authorized to do so. OPM will take their word for it because that notarization and signature represent a sworn statement on the part of the registrar that he (or she) would swear under oath and on penalty of perjury and potential jail time that I am a natural-born citizen of the United States of America, which is all the independent verification of the details on that document needed. That is all OPM needs to see when it comes to background investigations.

BAC, I have undergone four investigations and have submitted my information for transferring my clearance between various government agencies more times than I care to count; I think I know what I am talking about when it comes to what is needed by the government to verify citizenship. As for Obama's copy, it too has been notarized and signed by the registrar of vital statistics in Hawaii, and you have been shown evidence that proves Obama's grandmother was misquoted in this very thread, so bringing her up as a witness to a supposed birth in Kenya really doesn't help you make your case. Face it, you have NOTHING; you've had nothing for the past two years, and you will still have nothing when Obama leaves office, whether that is two or six years from now. Maybe you should cut your losses.

My weight isn't on my original birth certificate.
:jaw-dropp

My mother lied to me about my birth weight! I wasn't really a fat baby!

(for the record, I was 10 lbs 4 oz at birth according to the birth announcements my mother saved and I now have).

British weights at the time were in stone.

Your mother absorbed you into her vagina? This is a story that needs to be told.

When our son was born we stopped by a grocery store on the way home and weighed him on their scales so there are alternative ways to ascertain weight.
.
Sorry, and not to suggest that what you said was not the absolute truth, but

Did you then put him in a plastic bag and run him though the register? Or did you shoplift that little boy? Just Asking Questions...

For the record: Beepgirl, a ridiculous 8.3 pounds. Bear, 6 and a half. Monkey Boi, 5 and change -- it was, let's just say a difficult birth. And El Niño was 7 even.
.

Did they really use stone for babies? Like "oh, suzy was a big baby: three-quarters of a stone?"

Nope - pounds and ounces.

Decimalisation didn't start coming in until the 1970s, and even then the imperial measures were still used by most people for quite some time.

In fact most of us still use them. I have never seen anyone order seven-eighths of a litre of beer, for example.

Friend of mine is 31. We both went through school using the metric system entirely. She gave birth last August and gives her son's weight in pounds and ounces.
