Let me assure you that wasn't "sufficient" to get you a "pretty high level security clearance". It may have been necessary but it was by no means sufficient. Not if they investigate applicants the way they used to investigate them. Probably every detail on that "copy" was independently confirmed. And you see, that's part of the problem with Obama's "copy". There appears to be difficulty confirming many of the details. Why there are even a number of people, including Obama's step-grandmother, who have stated they saw his birth ... in Kenya.

By the way, I've read that Obama's birth weight was 8lb 2oz (supposedly from page 22 of Dreams From My Father). But since the certification of live birth that Obama and the State of Hawaii have released, and which Obama supporters now seem to be claiming is the only certification there is or ever was, doesn't indicate the birth weight, how did Obama know the birth weight? Could it have been on the "birth certificate" that he claimed in his book Dreams From My Father to have found when he was in high school? Of course, that birth certificate couldn't have looked anything like the one that's been published, since Hawaii had not gone to electronic ones yet. So … uh … why didn't he just release the one he found while in high school when he decided to make his birth certificate public? And if he lost it, why not just say so when asked about it?

BAC has a point. There is literally no other way to know your birth weight than to read it on your birth certificate. It's not the sort of thing parents remember, I'm sure.

Not necessarily. I know my birth weight because of my mother. Not any birth certificate. I'm sure the fact that i'm a (fraternal) twin and we were premature helped but I know there are plenty of people that could tell you their birth weight off the top of their head.

You're clearly lying. I demand to see your long form birth weight certificate.

That's a lie. Why must you lie to make your point here?

Such as?

Name on credible person who has said this.

Liar.
you are taking side, and you are not noting facts.

Who seems to be having this difficulty?

You seem to be suggesting that the same sort of people responsible for background checks on people being considered for government security clearance are the ones having difficulty confirming details of Obama's birth certificate. That is, quite frankly, an immensely idiotic position to take. If there were any doubt by the people responsible for confirming Obama's eligibility to run for President, he would not currently be President.

FAQs are not facts.

Seriously? Seriously? You really think that is the only way to know one's birth weight? Seriously?!

I don't know what is sadder, that you think you are fooling anyone with that line or the possibility that you actually think that you are 'not taking sides'.

Horse crap. Nothing on the Certificate of Live Birth has or would be difficult to indipendently confirm...save if your crazy. Indipendent confirmation isn't "questioning" every assertion in an official document. They don't go back and interview a doctor 40 years after a birth when they have a birth certificate to "confirm" that the baby was born where the document says he was born. They look at the document. They determin that it is official by checking with the state to determin if it was indeed issued by the state and that the state certifies the information is correct.

You haven't the least idea of what you're talking about. I've had a security clearance, and it was very thourough and the Birth Certificate issued by the State of Michigan (not the "original" issued at my birth) and certified as complete was totally acceptable.

Because, and I know this NEVER EVER happens in a family, a mother, grandmother, grandfather told him what his birth weight was. I mean that, of course, would be an extradodinary conversation, hard to imagine a grandmother sitting around the table remenicing with her grandson about his birth and saying something so peculiar as: "oh, you were a healthy baby...you weighed XX pounds..." Even harder to imagine that, say, said grandmother might let that information out, say, at the birth of the grandson's daughter...oh, she's a healthy girl at XX pounds, you were just like that, XX pounds when you were born.

Admittedly a stretch because conversations like that never happen in families...especially those strange mixed race families where the grandson was born in Kenya.

When our son was born we stopped by a grocery store on the way home and weighed him on their scales so there are alternative ways to ascertain weight.

And of course, no mother in history has ever said, "Because I laboured for YY hours to give birth to an XX pound baby, that's why!"

That is so funny, because I hear women talk about weight and the hours giving birth so many times and you left out length.

Just noting facts? There were no facts in your whole post!

OMG! My birth records certify the date of my birth, but somehow I know I was born 4:55 AM! :eye-poppi

Who am I? Where was I born? How can I know this? Was I born with a Rolex in my hand? Who stole my birthright Rolex?

Let me get this straight - people are claiming that he can't know how much he weighed at birth because it isn't on his birth certificate? Please tell me that isn't the case!

There's a sort of convoluted claim that since he knows his birth weight, he can only know it from his birth certificate. However, since his birth weight isn't on the COLB, then therefore the long form must exist! File the suit ASAP!
