Hrm, perhaps Obama was actually born at sea? I smell a new conspiracy coming along ;)

(and as a total coincedence, as it happens my maternal great grandmother was born on a ship somewhere in the middle of the Atlantic).

OMG! It was all a plot to legitimize Admiralty Law in US courtrooms and cause the subjugation of the Freemen!

Given that some of the birthers have begun crossing over to Freeman woo (see Christoper: Strunk In Esse for one), I wouldn't be the least surprised if that someone picked it up and ran with it.

I'm young so it's before my time but my mother explained to me that in the 60's they weren't allowed to get in the pool at our local Coney Island. And we're from the mid west!! :boggled:

It amazes me this birther conspiracy still has the legs it does. Reading comments on different articles I still see birthers parroting the lie that a COLB isn't an adequate form to prove his citizenship and they're demanding to see his "birth certificate". :boggled:

Three plausible interpretations of boyntonstu's answer:
  • He wants us to think the Birther's selective enforcement is entirely random.
  • He recognizes the injustice of selective enforcement, but is too much of a hypocrite to admit that Birthers are guilty of it.
  • He's accusing the cops in his jurisdiction of selective enforcement based on characteristics that couldn't possibly be relevant here, wink wink, and is using that precedent to justify Birthers' selective enforcement.

Or of course, the 4th option:

Whether or not a speeder was selectively pulled over, he was still speeding. Selective enforcement does *not* affect guilt, and "others were doing it to" is no defense.

The REAL problem with his analogy is that is only makes sense if the presuppose guilt. If the "speeder" is innocent, the analogy is gibberish. Here is a more accurate version on the analogy:

40 white men and one black are driving down the same highway. They are all travelling at the same speed or near enough to it as for the difference to not be easily discernable.

The cops pull over the black man and say "sir, our radar gun is broken, so we don't know for sure if you were speeding or not. As a result, we want you to prove you were not speeding.

The black man asks why none of the white drivers were treated the same.
 
And the police officer is not satisfied with the evidence the man wasn't speeding.
