The problem is that every single one of them in this case has already done this by posting on the internet, which in every country is heavily subsidized and funded by government (even if you still pay monthly, the infrastructure was built with tax dollars).

I don't think any reasonable person would agree with your position that as long as FOTLers don't engage in any of the above, they are free to do what they want - but none of them do that, and none of them ever have. Most ironically, the biggest FOTL bullhorns on the internet (especially the David Icke site) are individuals who are using thousands of dollars of government benefits in welfare, food stamps, tax credits for low income, etc.

Stop. My position is not that they are free to do what they want. They are wrong to believe that they owe not a single cent in taxes. I even said so in the part of my post that you didn't quote. They are criminals who violate clearly-established and well-understood laws. My point was that even if they are violating the law, it is inappropriate to call them hypocrites IF they don't pay taxes (out of a sincere, but grossly mistaken belief (and I see no reason to put the leaders of the movement in this category)) AND they don't use anything provided by the government.

The internet. First, let me say that in another JREF thread I strongly condemned an FTOTLer who claimed that his driving on roads didn't harm anything or cause any measurable wear therefore he should be permitted to use local and state roads without paying any taxes that might go to the cost of building and maintaining roads. But posting messages on an internet forum board? Really? Don't you think we have reached a new level of pettiness if we criticize them for not paying the government cost of a few message postings?

ETA: Don't those government costs come out of the taxes collected by ISP's and phone companies when they send out their bills. If the FMOTLer is paying his phone bill then isn't he really paying the government taxes associated with this cost?

You have to remember, lots of these guys aren't only trying to get out of involuntary financial obligations like taxation, they are also trying to get out of voluntary bills like mortgages, rents and credit cards. There's a good chance that he's not paying his phone bills, in fact.

Yes. I have no evidence to show what percentage of FMOTLers do or do not pay their phone bills (or cable bills), but one does get cut off pretty quickly if one does not pay.


ETA: Im off to do some internet research. I want to find the Latin term that will make people stop arguing with me.

The Judge probably realised he was dealing with a FOTLer and was considering calling for a psych report.

On top of girlgye's usual lunacy, that is a classic Freeman thread. Menard is claiming that someone had all criminal charges dropped using FOTL-speak and that the judge accepted his "fee schedule." I didn't even bother looking into what FOTLers think a fee schedule is. I assume it's a meaningless document full of gibberish that says the recipient owes the FOTLer an amount greater than the GDP of United States unless he stands on his head and drinks a glass of water at the same time.

And of course Menard is so concerned with protecting this mystery man's privacy that he won't cough up any proof of any of this. Even the people at Icke's don't seem to be buying this, and that's really saying something.

Sadly Menard has skulked off. Shame that as he was really backing himself into a corner.

Fingers crossed he makes a return though in another crass attempt to sound clever to his minions. Looks like the ammunition is there if he does.

And the FOTL process for collecting/enforcing debts is......

Mind you could be some useful information here. If I ask my wife is it ok for me to have an affair I shall take the following days of silence and disgusted/incredulous looks to mean agreement.
