Continuation Part 2 - Discussion of the Amanda Knox case

I recommend checking out Perugia Shock for new photos of The Knife. It turns out The Knife is actually quite dirty, therefore it has not been cleaned, therefore it is not the murder weapon.

Appeal over then. All the court has to do is to check out an AK support website. It would save so much time and money.

Thanks, Withnail1969!

The new picture is stunning, considering what ILE maintained, that the knife drawn attention because it was extra clean.

It's very good news that experts want to actually retest the evidence, not only review the old "tests". I can see why prosecution is panicking about it.

After all the rounds Mignini and the police went to,to frame Amanda and Raffaele could they come undone by their failure to seep a little of Meredith's blood into the handle of the knife

Logic says they neglected this important part or they would have already taken part the knife handle.I wonder what or whom prevented them from doing it since

Ye know what they say about the best laid plans of mice and men

Yup, when all else fails, revert to a CT.

Not necessary. No need even to retest The Knife. If it had been the murder weapon, it would still be covered in blood and DNA. It hasn't been cleaned. Nor does it look clean as the Keystone Kops claimed it did.

I think there was strong belief they have the right guy by the time Raffaele's kitchen knife was collected.

The knife DNA results where all over the media by Nov 15.
Here's what Frank wrote the day before:
Waiting for evidence
No blood found on "daddy's boy"'s knives (that doesn't mean too much because he could have hidden the only "responsible" knife).
No blood found in his car (He didn't take the car).
His house has been checked with luminol and no blood resulted from there.
No blood found on his Nike shoes (that may mean something because he should have washed them in order of completely canceling blood. His Nike snickers were believed to be the same that left the print on Meredith's blood).
Nothing coming from camera recordings. Not yet.

The more they searched and tested the weaker the case against Sollecito looked. That's why a suggestion went to Stefanoni to use a more ground breaking methods on whatever evidence there was still to be tested. She dutifully cranked up the machine and after many repetitions got something satisfying. Unfortunately for them it happened to be on a kitchen utensil particularly hard to include into any murder scenario.

The depth of the large cut in Meredith's neck was only about half the length of the kitchen knife blade. If it was the murder weapon, one would not necessarily expect to find blood under the handle, because the handle would not have been in direct contact with the victim.

But, if that is the case, then the attacker drew a three-inch cut through cartilage and muscle by holding the knife so that only half the blade penetrated the wound. And in doing so, the attacker perfectly simulated the kind of wound that could more easily be inflicted with a small knife plunged in up to the hilt.

Regardless of whether anything is stuck under the handle, it's obvious The Knife has not been washed, therefore cannot have been the murder weapon.

Just a thought :
Do we know if the knife was new or old? Beacuse sometimes, old knives have this specific kind of dirt that is unwashable, just beacuse it's old and used. This knife doesn't seem to be and old one, but I think this needs to be determined. Not that I don't believe that this wasn't a murder weapon, I totally do and I'm more than sure that they won't find anything damning for Amanda or Raffaele.

Ron Hendry did an excellent job of analyzing the bra and clasp. When you look closely you will see that the clasp was not cut from the bra. The thread failed at the seam joining the clasp and the bra. This would have been the result of brute force.

I agree the bra was being pulled on with some force. That doesn't mean that when it was cut, that as the bra weakened a thread or 2 pulled loose. Now I can believe its possible the bra was pulled apart at the seam with great force. However, for a scenario to work with the bra being torn loose at the seam, IMO, Rudy wasn't wielding a knife until after the bra was broken at the seam. He would need his other hand free to push against the body or he would just pull Meredith towards him.

After viewing the rather gruesome photo I must agree with Hendry. The bra was not cut, but torn with brutal force.

All three straps are broken. Both of the shoulder straps, and the back one. It's interesting to notice where are their points of failure: All of them failed at the seams. If Rudy was to cut all of the straps, how plausible is it that he would be careful enough to cut at the seam every time?

Maresca did not merely oppose the idea of dismantling the knife. He opposed new testing of the bra as well.

Maresca represents the Kerchers in the civil action. Sollecito will likely have money that is attackable by the Kerchers, essentially the ideal. So that's the most Maresca can hope for, Guede is not going to be a good target, nor is AK by the US courts are not going to move judgement over and she can just keep her money here. RS is the peson for whom the prosecution has the weakest case. Further the Kerchers really do believe Mignini's theory is right.

I think it is totally consistent with Maresca's aims to want the appeal to be as ineffectual as possible.

Sollecito has no attackable Money that i'm aware of. He was a college student.

Ok so your theory is all three straps broke at the seam. Ok I can buy that as possible. So enough force is pulled against the bra to break all 3 straps without one of the shoulder straps sliding off the shoulder and down the arm. The only way i see one of the straps not sliding down is if it was being prevented by the victim still resisting. However, the shoulder straps would have had to break before the back of the bra, otherwise there would have been nothing to pull with. Unless of course the bra was actually pulled from the front.

Now that I think about that. The pulling of the bra from the front and breaking both straps and the clasp actually makes more sense.

knife + others

I have two questions:

1) There are 5 or 6 major evidence points for the defense. For example the computer forensics? When do those get discussed

2) Can someone check me here on the knife because I'm sorta losing the logical of the positions. I'm just going to assert let me know where I'm wrong (genuinely asking):

a) The knife belongs to a set that Raffaele owns. That is not disputed fact.
b) Amanda's DNA is on the handle, undisputed.
c) The knife has been washed with bleach
d) There was some DNA found on a crevice on the blade. Under standard methodologies it was untestable, violating forensic procedure it matched Meredith.
e) The wounds on Meredith are semi consistent with the knife but only if we assume it was used in unusual ways.
f) The knife definitely fails to match the impression on the sheet.
g) Raffaele claims that Meredith pricked herself on the knife when Amanda brought it over to the cottage to cook with. I'm assuming he offered this opinion during the everyone decided to incriminate themselves interrogation on the 5th-6th?
h) Somehow the prosecution claims to know that Meredith never went to Raffaele's house. How?
i) The prosecution claims they are worried about destroying the evidence during an examination? Why would that be a concern? What do they need the knife whole for?

Thanks.
