Olbermann quits/is fired? Where's the thread?

He will probably be replaced with one of MSNBC's lockdown shows or reruns of to catch a predator.

MSNBC is probably in the business of trying to make money. It is not surprising if they try to do something to increase revenue. I would think him going away is a simple case of marginal cost clearly exceeding benefit.

Cenk Uygur is a good choice. He has a good sense of humor and isnt afraid of those two taboos of modern journalism; the tough question, and the follow-up question.

Wow, this thread has brought with it shocking news indeed. Not Olbermanns departure though; I had no idea Cicero had been banned!
I would like to say I will miss the humor his posts brought me, even if that wasnt his intent.

Those aren't the only taboos he's unafraid of. He thinks having sex with underaged boys is "awesome".

I'll never understand how the Right got their reputation for a total lack of sense of humor. It's a total mystery.

They recently did a fairly large study about minors that has sexual affairs with adults (maybe someone can find the link--I heard the report on Dr. Dean Edell's show).

The results were interesting. The girls experienced years of trauma that affected them through their life--shame, inability to be intimate...etc.

The boys UNANIMOUSLY remembered the relationships fondly and did not appear to be negatively affected in any way.

Sometimes we joke about things not being a big deal because they aren't a big deal. I'm sure there are some such relationships that were abusive and caused problems, but the age difference isn't sufficient.

So long *******. Unfortunately MSNBC just doesn't learn. They are elevating that loudmouth, red-faced nutcase Ed Schultz to the 10pm time slot.

Now come one, you won't get into heaven calling people "loudmouth, redfaced and nutcase" now, will you?

Let's hope he now seeks that urgent psychiatric medical help he so desperately needs!

In fact, stick him and Beck in a room, lock the doors...winner take all

HA HA, funny thing is... Beck never reports news... Olbermann did NOTHING BUT!

THat stupid false equivalency is a much traveled path on these forums. All you need to do to shut up the goofballs trying to make it offer this challenge:

Find a single example of Olbermann advancing something as stupid and obviously false as the "death panel" whopper.

That's just to start the game. If they can find even one example of something so vapid and malicious that Olbermann presents as fact, then we can BEGIN the comparison.

So, the worst person in the world wasn't vapid and malicious? Sure.

argumentum ad populum much?

Nope. Argumentum ad populum requires an argumentum to go with the populum.

I didn't say "X is true because Olberduoche has a small fan club". I just said "Olberdouche has a small fan club, lol".

He was my liberal porn until I realized he was either deliberately missing the point or he was just too lazy to do some, you know, actual journalism. A general example "Republican Senator 'X' didn't vote for Protect Women Act. What a miscreant! The Bill protects women!!" Well, perhaps Senator 'X' didn't vote for it because it wasn't properly funded, had "extras" added on that weren't necessary and it doesn't take a whole lot of imagination to realize that it probably had gobs of unintended consequences.

I like him, he's eloquent but he is most definitely a blowhard.

That's all I got right now because I can't find the thread and I can't believe there isn't one yet.
Unless something has changed since late last night (or been sneakily put out this morn) nothing to post about yet except he is out and MSNBC will likely lose viewers in that time slot - 9:00 they'll pick back up.:)

Subjective adjectives aside ... President George W. Bush never said "Mission Accomplished". How many times did Keithy make reference to the exact opposite?
Even if he did not say it (probably couldn't pronounce the words correctly) he carefully stood/was placed in front of a big sign that said it and he wore a cute little costume that implied he was functionally (as opposed to fakely so he could stay out of a war) military - just as if he never ran off and hid (not where he was supposed to be is hiding or running away in the real world) during his time playing in the military. During wartime, which he carefully avoided - unless you wish to argue that Daddy hid him and he was too stupid to realize that was happening.

Bush's silliness and evil overwhelms a misstatement about a phrase rather much by me.
