That's all I got right now because I can't find the thread and I can't believe there isn't one yet.

It only just happened hours ago. You are too impatient.

As to the firing, I am not terribly surprised. When they punished him for contributing to a political cause, I think that was the beginning of the end. He is not the sort of man to wear those kinds of shackles.

But he'll find something. He is popular and has a large following. MSNBC is the real loser here. Most people never paid any attention to them until Countdown.

Personally, I don't care for his style. Too much like Rush Limbaugh.

Yeah, I read the news.

I have to imagine he was a difficult person to work for and with. This isn't the first position he's left.

At his best, he was a very important voice that made powerful, progressive arguments. At his worst, he was childish and strident.

I'll miss him. He might be best suited to just deliver his special comments in a weekly format or something. That was his best material.

wow...thanks for the news...I didn't even know till now!

Might be due to the recent Comcast / NBC takeover...since there's always been discussion about what would happen when that's finalized.

Wait, is this politics?

I'm not sure, I never watch the man.

I love NBC immediately saying it had nothing to do with the Comcast sale. Oh OK, well glad we cleared that up.

Also got a kick out of them "wishing him well in his future endeavors." That's such a pro wrestling thing. :D

So long *******. Unfortunately MSNBC just doesn't learn. They are elevating that loudmouth, red-faced nutcase Ed Schultz to the 10pm time slot.

Ed Schultz isn't that bad. I actually watch Maddow more than any other MSNBC show anyway.

I think it will be an unmitigated disaster for MSNBC. Remember he has to go against Greta and Anderson Cooper at 10pm. Anyway it seems that this "departure" was a long time coming and the timing was right for the management to give Olbermann the final push out the door.

This is a country of 300,000,000 people. Surely there is someone better than Ed Schultz.

How about Sam Seder? He's at least entertaining. I'm not sure if he could competently fill an hour, but let someone else of substance play the straight man role. Chris Hayes isn't terrible, he usually brings on interesting people to interview.

I am not a fan of Schultz. He's not what one would call a deep thinker.

It's yet to be seen who will replace him at 6pm. One can only hope not another hour of Chris "I don't see race yet talk about it endlessly with insane theories...oh yeah I also hope Michelle divorces Barack so I can marry him" Matthews. If they pick someone with a modicum of talent his replacement at 6pm might also be his replacement at 10pm soon enough.

Let's hope he now seeks that urgent psychiatric medical help he so desperately needs!

In fact, stick him and Beck in a room, lock the doors...winner take all

Olberman would kick Beck's flabby butt all over the room. Beck would be crying real tears, not the fake ones his makeup artists put on him.

Not that this would prove anything.
