Breaking news! Truther Ignored by Senator!

Its fair to say that pretty much all of us, pre-911, would have indeed let the hijackers do whatever they like. This is what they do in the movies. This is what the authorities told us to do.

Before 9-11, hijackings never took a passenger plane to be used as a big missile.

but of course, 9-11 truthers are clairvoyant and brave as a wolf, and would have taken the mofo's out!!!

You mean crying under stress isn't a good indicator of how someone will act in a more stressful scenario? You people are funny.

This guy was a terrorist, a hijacker? Sounds like he terrorized himself.

Negative. This man was afraid of his own shadow, and it appears to have been a short one.
he was the pilot and not necessarily the muscle. OOPS your ignorance is showing.

Nice English.

Anyway, is this a blanket policy? Just give up a plane regardless of the consequences?

How are they supposed to assess the consequences in that moment? To them it was a hijacking, the policy says to cooperate.

These men had razor blades or some-odd equivalent. A pilot, regardless of policy, has a code, a personal one.
This is your opinion. The pilots may have believed that cooperation would save lives.

I believe what I meant to write was: do they give up the aircraft regardless of the severity of the immediate threat? What if they didn't have box cutters? What if they just claim to have bombs? Give up the aircraft?

In one instance, flight 93, the hijackers claimed to have a bomb. That was probably part of the overall plan to keep the passengers compliant.

Now this is one of the few times that you have actually asked sensible questions. I cannot profess to know the right answer but I would assume surrendering the aircraft would likely depend on the severity of the situation. I could see a scenario where a single person acting erratically and professing to have a bomb and demanding to have control of the plane might fail to result in no compliance by the pilots. There have been plenty of examples over the years of unruly passengers causing emergency landings of planes.

By all accounts though the teams of hijackers presented a severe situation where surrendering the craft was more likely. Even if they did not the hijackers had the numbers to overtake the pilots since their actions not only took passenger and crew by surprise but presented them with a immediate danger that they had no expertise to deal with.

Far more likely they killed the pilots while they were strapped in their seats. There is at least one CVR recording from that day that certainly sounds like a pilot being killed in his seat.

I agree. By the sounds of Betty Ong's call before anyone could respond the plane was taken over and if I am not mistaken UA93's CVR indicates that the pilots were taken by surprise and murdered.

What do you think the odds are that such a person actually got a bomb on board, particularly if there is no evidence of it? What do you think the odds are such a person would allow a safe finish to the hijacking after making such a threat?
Either I have the bomb or I don't. Call my bluff . I dare you.

How did you get the razor blade there in the first place?
I'm fairly sure they weren't banned then, but I could put it in my mouth, my hair, my laptop, my shoe, jacket liner, etc... I have the razor to his/her throat. Call my bluff. I dare you.

Did this happen? On which flight(s)? Evidence?
Have you ever wrestled someone who attacked you with a razor to the ground & ripped his face off? Evidence? If you say no or can't provide the evidence then my speculations are as valid as yours. Call my bluff.

Have you seen pictures of these people? How many times do you need to hear one of Hanjour's flight instructors talk about how he cried when asked to land his Cessna?
Yeah I've seen their pictures. What's your point?
As far as crying, I've seen Navy Seals cry watching a video of a little girl singing "I'll be home for Christmas". I've seen MMA fighters cry after a loss. I've seen a Recon Marine cry after putting his cat to sleep.

You wrestle them down and rip their faces off too?
He was a weakling.
Was?

Evidence?

Yet none of those are stress related. They are purely emotional. None of those reactions is based on fear.

Crying in stressful situations is not based on fear either. Well maybe sometimes it is but I don't know if you would be able to tell readily or not. It might take an interview after the incident to determine that.

He begged his instructor not to make him land.

Ok. I call.
BOOM! You lose! blown to bits when you could have cooperated and had at least an opportunity to land yourself and your passengers back at the airport. Failing that you could have waited for the hijackers to be distracted with all that flying you thought was so difficult. I hope you are not in any employment position that requires judgment, You are pretty bad at that. Can you help the next person in line?

So he he was afraid of landing in that situation? Show me concrete documentation that this incident proves he could not have done what he did on Flight 77. Prove to me that he was too weak to take part in a hijacking. Prove that he did not fly the plane into the Pentagon. All you have is one crying incident and mined quotes as to his flying ability and that is simply not enough. The burden of proof, in this case, is upon you to prove to us, beyond a reasonable doubt, that Hanjour did not do what is claimed. In this case we are the defense so the burden rest with you, sir.
