Any 'pro-Palestinian' atheists here?

I do not look at videos posted by many folks on JREF, including Neo-Nazis, Creationists, Birthers, Truthers, and other folks.

If that's how you feel you must justify yourself here, ok...

Just let it go, when someone sticks their fingers in their ears and shuts their eyes while chanting "I can't see or hear you" it means you've won.

I know, I'm with you, and with that last post I did just that.

I'm not sure its really worth it to negotiate with someone who on the one hand, agrees that they may have to abandom 90% or so of the West Bank, but on the other hand continues to build settlements in the West Bank.
So what's their alternative? Do nothing? Doesn't sound very productive to me.

I wonder if Israel would be willing to negotiate with the Palestinians, if Hamas and Al Aqsa Martyrs Brigade were blowing up buses in Tel Aviv, as we speak.

Somehow, I think Israel might demand an end to all violence before they would agree to resume negotiations.
Do you think all Hamas violence had ceased when Israel offered to stop most settlement construction and return to negotiations? Do you think Hamas refrained from violence during the 10-month moratorium?

Violence from Hamas is down significantly. And violence from Fatah is non-existent.

The Middle East Problem

"It's probably the easiest conflict in the world to describe."

"In a nutshell, this is what it is; Israel would like to exist and recognizes the right of the Palestinians to a have a state. The Palestinians, however, and many other Muslims and Arabs, do not recognize the right of a Jewish state of Israel to exist."

"It's not hard to explain the middle east dispute. One side wants the other dead. You know what the motto of Hamas is? The motto of Hamas is "We love death as much as the Jews love life." Now you tell me, how is Israel supposed to make peace when people believe what Hamas believes?"

"One side wants the other dead, and if they didn't, there would be peace."

"That's the issue. Why can't a little state the size of El Salvador, that calls itself Israel, be allowed to exist?"

"In a nutshell, this is what it is; Israel would like to exist and recognizes the right of the Palestinians to a have a state. [/b]

there has never been a vote in the Knesset or even the Israeli Cabinet, to recognize the right of the Palestinian people to their own state in Gaza and the West Bank.

and yet, Israel wants the Palestinians to officially recognize Israel not just having the right to exist (which they did years ago), but to also be a Jewish State.

I bring this up all the time in the various hate-the-joos threads. While I would like to think a Palestinian state would have freedom (and democracy) I think, rather, that it would collapse rapidly.

Then Israel should let the "Palestinians" have their state, in order to allow it to collapse rapidly.

Then, whenever the subject of a "Palestinian" state comes up, the Israelis can say, "Been there. Done that. Doesn't work."

Remember the thugs there, like thugs everywhere, are all about becoming the leaders of the local kleptocracy. "Hate the joos" is an age-old, well-tested, functional meme useful for control. It's an instance of the larger idea of redirecting the hatred of your hoi polloi against an external (or smaller) threat, rather than at you, the vicious leader, which could lead to troubles that affect your power.

Do you really think "Palestinians" and their supporters are that stupid?

I don't agree with 154's views on religion, but the argument in the video is entirely secular, and correct IMO.

Netanyahu declared a ten month moratorium on settlements and the Palestinians refused to take up the offer of negotiating. They waited until the 9th month then said they needed more time to decide and that the moratorium needs to be extended. Classic stalling tactic.

Another classic stalling tactic is talks that never end, while settlement expansion resumes after ten months. They wanted an assurance that this would not be the case, before the talks started.

And they got that 9 months into the moratorium? Or did they abandon that condition? 'Fraid you're going to have to provide evidence of this claim.

Because most of the "Palestinians" are bogus as a 3 dollar bill.

"What is a Palestinian? If any Arabs have legitimate claims on property in Israel, it must be those who were illegally deprived of their land and homes after 1948. Arafat has no such claim. And few if any of those shooting, bombing and terrorizing Israelis today do either."
