Ok. Got my plan for next year.
for 2010, my insurance went down by 2% over 2009, but the deductible went up. My 2011 coverage, for the same thing as 2010, the cost increased to 110.33% of the 2010 cost.

My health care has gone up every year as far back as I can remember. I'm sure that was all in anticipation of Obamacare.

My wife is changing health plans and because of the recent changes the pre existing condition is not an issue.

It's not so much the future changes Obamacare will engender, its the past changes made via time travel that I find particularly insidious.

Correct-fairly substantial increase of $125/month
I'm "retired", and although LMCO says they pay part, that is full fare--it's 5% less than COBRA would have been...

I am not in favor of the new health bill but my premiums have pretty much gone up all the time.

Medicare costs a lot less to deliver care than private insurance. The Democratic idea was to allow everyone to buy into Medicare.

Medicare costs a lot less to deliver care than private insurance. The Democratic idea was to allow everyone to buy into Medicare.

Hospitals lose money on Medicare patients. If everyone was on Medicare there would be no health care at all, because everyone else subsidizes Medicare patients.

Example:

The Mayo organization had 3,700 staff physicians and scientists and treated 526,000 patients in 2008. It lost $840 million last year on Medicare, the government’s health program for the disabled and those 65 and older, Mayo spokeswoman Lynn Closway said.

Mayo’s hospital and four clinics in Arizona, including the Glendale facility, lost $120 million on Medicare patients last year, Yardley said. The program’s payments cover about 50 percent of the cost of treating elderly primary-care patients at the Glendale clinic, he said.

“We firmly believe that Medicare needs to be reformed,” Yardley said in a Dec. 23 e-mail. “It has been true for many years that Medicare payments no longer reflect the increasing cost of providing services for patients.”

I voted for Obama largely because I wanted single-payer nationalized health insurance. Despite having a majority in the House and Super-Majority in the Senate, we still ended up with McCain-Care.

The people get the benefits of no more pre-existing conditions and getting dropped after you get sick. But the expected savings of universal health care (going to a doctor instead of ER, regular check-ups to detect and prevent illnesses before they become worse/more costly, etc.) under the new laws are savings for doctors and hospitals (hands up, who thinks they will charge less now) and costs for insurers (hands up, who thinks they will use this to justify higher premiums now) even while the insurers get more revenue coming in (hands up, who thinks they won’t mention that or will call it a wash or even a loss).

So now the hospitals have justification to charge more and the insurance companies have justification to charge more, even though they providing the same level of service (although now doing so at less cost), while we all also pay for more government bureaucrats to oversee that the hospital and insurance companies rake in more revenue at less cost and increase the profits for their corporate elite.

If I recall, that is what McCain said he’d do. That was not what I wanted. But under Omaba, that’s what we got.

If that is Obamacare, then I don’t like Obamacare. I want nationalized health insurance where everyone gets the benefits of what is paid into the insurance program with no skimming off the top of insurance companies and no loopholes for hospitals and health providers.

No, if everyone was on Medicare, hospitals costs would go down, because they wouldn't be paying for uninsured people in the emergency rooms. See "every other industrialized nation" for examples. Try and keep up.
