Hello from a non-skeptic

I'm willing to stick to the "only three posters at a time" rule as long as the people on the Bowman forums are willing to stick to "don't represent your personal beliefs as fact" rule that we have here.

Did we give up after the Germans bombed Pearl Harbor? Nooooo!!! Who's with me?

*runs away alone*

In fact, it was the JAPANESE who bombed Pearl Harbour. For what it's worth.

Ah, no twasn't. Was the Japanese whut we scuttled at Manila. Damn the torpedoes and England expecting duty and all that.

History's me strong suit.

Hello everyone,

I hope you will have realized by now that what I am truly after is a serious and unbiased evaluation of the phenomena. I have not as yet bothered to read through what I may have missed here seeing as most of it until what I did read was just BS and offence. In fact, it would be much more pleasant for everyone involved, including the members at Carol's forum to whom I had already provided a link to this thread, if all posts holding no objectivity were deleted.

In other words : "I'm really easy to get along with once you people learn to worship me."

What is devastatingly shoking is how the closed-minded people here react to that very reasonnable attitude with "I see you've set aside this special time to humiliate yourself in public."

Charles just posted more of his thoughts on this thread on the Past Life forums. Apparently he genuinely felt afraid, feeling we were threatening him and his family because someone found the book he had written - you know, the one he directly copied parts of his early posts from. It seems he views the JREF forums as a violent mob of some kind, and according to him, pretty much every poster outside Garrette was simply howling mindless insults at him - it was so bad he fears for the safety of his family.

Considering all that, I guess it really was brave of him to post with his own name. :boggled:

"Quand on veut tuer un chien, on dit qu'il a la rage".

When one want to kill a dog, one just has to pretend he has got the rabbies.

Charles would have used any excuse to avoid answering the polite and well founded critic of his story/hypotheses.

It really does beggar belief, doesn't it? Especially when the worst he actually had to contend with was some sarcasm and a little gentle mockery.

Fortunately the thread is still here, so anyone who cares to read it can see for themselves what really transpired.

Well, we all know what believers think of fact-checking. Therefore i really doubt that they will read this thread. And if they do, i'm pretty sure that most (if not all) of them will adopt Charle's point of view.

Greetings,

Chris

When one want to kill a dog, one just has to pretend he has got the rabbies.

The first time I read this, I got this image of Charles, foaming at the mouth, preparing to lunge at the canine, while secretly smug of his own cleverness. Then I realized the "he" referred to the dog, but the image stayed. :D

I see Charles has been making an effort to publicize his book:

Charles, you really should be more careful about sharing addresses on the internet. They could be read by people much more dangerous than a few individuals who happen to disagree with you about reincarnation, ouija boards and prophecies.

By the way, look at the tags for Charles' book on Amazon USA:

:D :D :D :D

Incidentally, it appears that Jonet/Janet Gordon was an illegitimate daughter of the the 3rd Earl of Huntly. Burke's Peerage makes no mention of her marrying Duncan Stewart of Appin, but even if she was his wife and had children they wouldn't be descendents of King James IV - it was her half-brother John who married the King's daughter Margaret. Of course, there may be a later link between someone descended from one of James' illegitimate daughters and the Stewarts of Appin but I'm not buying Charles' book to find out...

Is that post still there? I get an error saying I am not logged in (and I really have no interest in joining that forum) or don't have permission to view that page.

I can still see the thread where Garrette and the others are posting, but don't think I see that particular post.

I looked at the thread earlier and still had a tab showing page 2 of it, including Boden's latest post. I just refreshed it and am also now getting the error message. Could be a software problem, could be that the thread has been set to be visible to members only.

It seems it's gone. Perhaps Charles realized he was being a touch unreasonable. Or perhaps our guys finally found him.

It might be time to add an entry to the JREF vocabulary list:

to bodenize, v. tr.

To call into question the credibility and honesty of someone by quoting only his own words.

If you mean your final post saying you had been treated poorly and would not come back, it created a reaction that was entirely foreseeable.
Sorry, but this is nonsense and you know it. You guys freaked the living daylight out of me over there and truly scared me to death. It was more like a "witch-hunt" from the position where I stand. Won't be doing that again in a hurry, I assure everyone...

The permitting of pulling out my book, and hence instantly exposing me there to what I did not wish to, at least at the beginning of what I was hoping would be an objective debate, and then the quoting of something I did not say in that forum was a shambles, I'm sorry. I am certainly not out for "exposure" or "promotion". As I said to you, I have a family and kids and I wish to preserve and protect them. On the internet, both you and I know that we have no idea whom we might be dealing with. It is a paradox, but in truth the preservation of identity diminishes any "lies" and makes it easier to expose what we normally wouldn't.

I, for one, felt quite unfairly painted with the broad and inaccurate brush you used, when I had gone out of my way to discuss things civilly.
You were practically the only one that did, which was why I did try to make a point of replying to you. Both you and I know that the questions concerning this issue are so numerous that it is impossible for just one person to find or know all the answers. I hope you are now feeling quite at home here...

Not that it offended me; my skin is far too thick and my experience far too broad to take offense or insult or emotional hurt from an internet forum.
Me too and me neither...

I just felt everyone needed a little more time to reflect and become more familiarized with what little data there might be (Though personally I don't think it's that little. Hope you will too).

I am off to work, but would be quite willing to debate what I shared with you concerning my personal experiences and answer what questions you may have posed that I was not able to answer. I see no need for the hurry, though. We won't be finding answers to so many questions in just one day.

Once again, a very warm welcome to you...

Charles

Or, the mods sent his post to AAH! It is preserved above for posterity. Note that Tinkerman's "stupor relish" was also pulled a while back, but FSM got a nice sig line out of it.

You know, while Charles' accusations certainly ring hollow, I have to agree that sometimes we, as a community, really are a bunch of dicks. :p
