I haven't watched the video, but does Miller actually mention the Berlin wall? Becase that wasn't the only border between East and West Germany. They had a much longer border with the rest of West Germany, and in comparison with US-Mexican border, that other border seems much more relevant than the Berlin wall.

I'm no mason, but I would think the mechanics of building a wall are generally universal. Using as an example a wall that has been built in order to show that such a wall can be built seems entirely reasonable.

Yes, because Joe Miller was obviously citing the renowned masonry and construction skills of East Germany.

One would think it's an exceedingly self-evident concept that Miller was referring to the tactics East Germany employed, as opposed to their building materials.

It was my understanding that the use of excessive force helped stem the flow across that wall, not the wall itself.

It was the combination. Without the wall, people would have been able to get across the border too quickly for force to be used effectively. A wall without guards isn't much of an obstacle, but the guards are made much more effective by the wall.

He was like a really crappy movie with a handful of classic lines.

Anyway.... getting back to the point... unless they construct such a wall so that it only works one way, it is a wall that keeps Americans from leaving.

You would think the FTL type TPers that worry about secret concentration camps and the like would grasp that and react accordingly.

I don't really mean the lines, but when I hear him, I really understand what people say when they mean that he "sounded like such a nice guy". He's got an elegant and gentle, but still forceful way of speaking.

'Course, his acting "career" probably helped.
