Could you start providing citations please as that statement seems a rather odd distortion of the facts as i recall them.

It's called denial. It's a coping reaction for the severe cognitive bias.
It's impossible to concede that Massei could be wrong to the point of maliciously and deliberately twisting and omitting facts. It's easier to pretend certain facts doesn't exist then face shattered beliefs.

You can stand by that all you want. I guess the court in Perugia did. But it is just ridiculous. He must have other regular customers. Can he detail which way they go when they leave, months after the fact?

I've yet to see you provide any facts.

I really enjoy this board. The posters are so intelligent and informed. It is a bit of a time drain though, reading it all. Well, off to other things.

I wasn't aware that someone simply trying not be noticed means they're about to steal something.

It was a cold morning.

What do you mean 'trying not to be noticed'? She couldn't have been any more conspicuous.

What do you mean, 'cold'? I've been to Italy several times, and you don't see anyone with scarves wrapped around their faces because it's just never particularly cold, even in winter.

Well, you weren't there were you? I would say that limits what you can assert.

Where you in Umbria...in November...on top of a hill?

Nope, he had a hard time even remembering he did a TV interview, now who would have a hard time with that one?

It's hardly an Alp. A hillock, maybe. Umbria is hardly Siberia, for Christ's sake. It's still jumper weather here in Scotland in October this year. Just apply some common sense.

The November average in Perugia is 54 F or 12.2 C. That's not even vaguely cold.

This is a new twist on the 'straw man' fallacy.

This is the 'hay stack' fallacy where the argument gets buried under strands of straw (one line answers), one straw at a time.

diary citation

How do you know the police said "You are a writer, you should write?"
Your imnagination perhaps?

Page 179, Murder in Italy. See how easy it is to cite something. Now you try it. If you go back through your old comments, you will get over 200 chances to practice.

Have you been there...in November at 07:45? Yes or no, it's a simple question.

We are not talking about the average, we're talking about the temperature on a particular day.

Even Amanda has said, it was a very cold day.

Perhaps also you've forgotten Raffaele's scarf and Amanda's need to borrow his coat as she was so cold, and that was early afternoon, not the early am.

They are basically spammers who never agree that anything has been established even after hours of pointing out how ludicrous their opinions are.

Every single day you have to start climbing the mountain again with them because they aren't really here to debate anything.

I would like to "report spam".

This thread is being trashed (again) by a certain malign individual who has made well over 100 posts in the last six and a half hours.

It is absurd that he is able to get away thumbing his nose at everyone here, not least the admins and mods.

1)Your choice of 'how to report' what you consider to be spam is totally erroneous, and in itself liable for probable moderator action

2) Your argument's designation of 'spam' as well as terminology about 'reporting' seem reminds me of and seems contrary to most recent on board warning from mods about excessive reporting based on opposing persuasion, and further may indicate culprit

3) "malign individual" terminology by you in your argument seems to make mockery of rules you argue so fervently to wrap yourself as well as your obvious bias in.

4) Was not aware how prominent inclusion in your argument, the tally of number of posts indicates anything other than you do not like what they say.

In fact today seems to be exactly the lively exchange of views that MR James Randi so wanted to encourage

Do you want me to dig out the actual temperature for that particular morning? Your premise is ridiculous, regardless. Nobody wanders about Italian towns with their face concealed like a Ninja, not unless they want to look like an idiot or a highly suspicious person.

Just let this one go, it's too idiotic to hold on to. You also dodged my question about whether Quintavalle's assistant remembers this mysterious masked 5' tall person.

Let's quote him struggling to remember then ;)

"Don't you remember an interview done with TG2?" he replied, "TG2? TG2 came and filmed me in secret, I said: 'Look I have nothing to say, nothing to declare'. Then with the camera they took over the counter of the shop [i.e. presumably the camera was now visible] and I told them that they should do nothing, they had to go" (transcript of the hearing 21.03.2009, p.111); while in this regard, the assistant Chiriboga affirmed that Quintavalle had reported having given this interview and, when asked by the President "So what did Quintavalle say about this interview?" the witness responded "He said: 'I have been interviewed', we said: 'But at what time?' He said he was interviewed after we went out to lunch" (transcript from the hearing of 26.06.2009, p.70).

BTW, I posted a video of this interview and it was hardly "secret" and he had a bit more to say than he indicated as well. I guess his memory must have failed him on this one.

Agreed. But have some heart, at least they've quit (mostly) in insisting the Postal Police arrived before Raffaele made the calls to the Carabinieri and that there was a shoe print made in blood by Amanda on the pillowcase found under Meredith's body. Unfortunately, that did take over 2 1/2 years.
