He's just laying the framework for his WTC 7 commercial fail. Media bias will be blamed, commercial gets YouTubed and gets distributed to Alt websites, Gage pockets the cash, truthers are still idiots, and the sun shall rise again.
 
Do you ever get the feeling Gage's greatest fear is that he would get what he asked for: a new investigation? While I'm not naive enough to think another non-CD proven investigation would completely eliminate every truther, I would think it would have to at least weaken his fan base if he can no longer fall back on his favourite mantra of "that's why we need a new investigation" when his eyes glaze over from a question he knows will expose his ignorance, incompetence and deceptiveness.

Gage only fears an end to the truth movement. This would result in no more traveling, no more praise from groupies, and having to actually find a full time REAL JOB.

DRG has the same fear.

I don't think so. In Trutherland things work differently. Instead of a mass of information that should otherwise completely dismantle the Inside Job "theory" it will just provide a mass of information that can be manipulated to serve the purpose of the Truth Movement. No doubt if person X says Y, they will be able to uncover a video of someone saying -Y, therefore inconsitency, therefore coverup, therefore Inside Job! Or else they can look at the backgrounds of everyone on the new commission. Oh look! Investigator A once met Ted Olson, Investigator B was in Skull and Bones, Investigator C looks awfully like a person who was photographed at Bohemian Grove in 1953, Investigator D has a slightly Semitic sounding name...etc... etc...

In fact, a new investigation could be a bit of a windfall for them and put them back in the spotlight.
 
I've often wondered whether "We Need a New Investigation" was code for "Please Give Us Money to Conduct Our Own Investigation."

Not that any of them has the least idea how to do such an investigation in the first place. For starters, one would have to understand the previous investigations (of which there are many) and propose a way to refine / reconcile / improve upon them. No Truther yet has managed this crucial first step, by definition.

You had to wonder that? I always thought that it was a given that only the people that they approved could run any investigation to their satisfaction. I think that Ed Asner brings some wonderful credentials to the table as a fake TV news editor while Rosie O'Donnell could bring in her expertise as a fake Federal Agent and talk show host to mediate disagreements.

While it would be hilarious to watch from the outside as they tore each other apart over conflicting opinions as to what the facts meant, I'm not willing to use taxpayers money to fund it. Maybe they could do it on pay-per-view...

You could probably leave off the "... to Conduct Our Own Investigation" and still be accurate. Or, if you want to be a bit nicer, you could replace it with "... to Conduct Our Own World Tour Asking For Dollars And Only Superficially Making Halfhearted Gestures At Conducting Our Own Investigation".
 
Yes, and i mean lets give them credit, they do throw in a tonne of bitching and whining for free.
