Guy comes to me with a plan.
Let's fake the final descents and subsequent catastrophic crashes of two passenger jet aircraft over the clear, blue, mid-morning skies of Manhattan, part of a city with a population of over 8 million people, countless thousands of whom are outdoors, looking out windows, or driving along at any one time. The plan's centerpiece is to simultaneously superimpose moving imagery on dozens of live professional and amateur video feeds, each originating from various vantage points, right there in the media capital of the world.
Plus, through the magic of wishful thinking, we're going to count on the hundreds of thousands of cameras, including cell phone cameras, to be low on batteries for a time.
To help seal the deal, truckloads of debris and airplane parts are going to be scattered in the streets and on top of buildings, all while pedestrians and other potential eyewitnesses are distracted in some way. Let's say a monkey on a unicycle.
Yep, I'm going to sign off on that plan.
In a world of crazy, no-planers are a special breed.
