Oh, reading isn't my strong suite? You're the one whose first evidentiary link was to the Weekly World News. :D I'm not letting you slide on it either.

Besides, the news about Bigfoot in the other papers isn't any more "real" than that which is "reported" in the Weekly World News. Nice attempt at trying to distance yourself from that one, though. :train

This morning, I left my home at 0245 as per usual. I stopped in Buena Vista to fuel up and get a coffee. As I came thru the little town of Twin Lakes, I was just feeling tired and the more I drove, the sleepier I got. So before I started up Independence Pass, I thought I would pull over and get some fresh air. (I had just noted that it was 36 degrees on the truck temp. gauge and even took a picture of it on my phone, to send to my brother in Virginia). I pulled over to the left side of the road. As I got out of the truck, I noticed movement in the meadow directly in front of me.

Just guessing here, but I'd anticipate Dr. Ketchum's "forensics" trade is gonna dry up if she goes public with this stuff.

Certain lucky folks see them frequently in Oklahoma. These creatures move on all fours (4X4). Sometimes they think they see a herd of cows but they are actually Bigfoots.

Every time a 'footer mentions 4x4 mode for added speed I laugh and try to imagine Patty in 4x4 mode. Holy Moses that would be funny to see!!
How can anyone with an ounce of common sense think Patty could gain speed by going 4x4?
 
There you go. Patty has double-hinged knees. That's why she must walk with a compliant gate. Otherwise her knees would bend backwards.

I understood from the beginning that you thought that linking to two other newspapers that carried the same story could somehow undo the damage to your credibility for linking to The Weekly World News, but it actually doesn't. This isn't the same as linking to the Daily Mail or The National Enquirer; it's far more egregious than that. The Daily Mail and the Enquirer's stories are mostly based on reality and have actual sources (who may or may not be lying/insane); they aren't known for flat-out making things up like The Weekly World News.

The fact that you thought you could gloss over it with a little disclaimer and links to a couple of different newspapers is frankly more astonishing than the whole Bigfoot legend itself. Kindly refrain from ever, ever linking to The Weekly World News again if you intend for people to take your posts seriously.

Edit: You'd have been better off just posting the links to the other two newspapers and leaving the link to The Weekly World News out. Why did you even provide a link to a source that was suspect to begin with?

From where I'm sitting (yes, it has armrests), X linked to a disreputable source, then offered reputable ones to back up the story. He/she/it didn't commit fraud or forgery, or confidently announce a game-changing revelation that would prove neither game-changing nor revelatory -- certainly nothing so heinous as that.

He made a mistake. It happens to the best of us. Maybe it would be better if we just moved on?

But I'm having so much fun with the links and puns. You have to admit that it was pretty silly of X-Blade to cast aspersions on my intellect after tripping over his own feet and making such a blunder.
