Another nice glimpse into what Hitler really thought.
This is hilarious! You didn't read what you posted! Hitler met with Mannerheim on 4th June 1942. here is the conversation....
Hitler: ...a very serious danger, perhaps the most serious one - it's whole extent we can only now judge. We did not ourselves understand - just how strong this state [the USSR] was armed
(OKW estimated that the Soviets had 10,000 obselete tanks before Barbarossa. In fact they had 20,000 by 1942 including T-34s and KV-1s.
Mannerheim: No, we hadn't thought of this
(So therefore neither Finland or Germany knew how many tanks the Russians had...that's incompetent leadership in action)
Hitler: Absolutely, This is - they had the most immense armaments that, uh, people could imagine. Well - if somebody had told me that a country - If somebody had told me a nation could start with 35,000 tanks, then I'd have said: "You are crazy!"
(Hitler still doesnt have a clue how many tanks the russians have a year into the war.)
Hitler: We have destroyed - right now - more than 34,000 tanks
(Hilter directly lies to his allie. Total write downs of Soviet Tanks had not yet reached 10,000 as the great tank battles don't start until 1943.
Hitler: In the fall of 1939 we always faced the question. I desperately wanted to attack, and I firmly believed we could finish France in six weeks.
(9/11 Investigator says Hitler didn't want to attack. Hitler says otherwise)
