It's absolutely astonishing to me that the same people who can assert that the entire Jewish people might be suffering from "battered child syndrome" or that the real problem is Jewish racial supremacy can't even conceive that there might be something to Arab culture that might contribute to the problem.
I guess you don't include folks in the former Yugoslavia, as "westerners".

from that logic, Christian cultures are superior to Jewish culture, as Christians do not segregate their women in religous services. nor do Christian cultures stone people who drive cars during the Sabbath.

ran an interesting thread on this when this "Cultural superiority" concept was put forward in the past. I asked a simple question of those that believed they could be rank ordered...
could you please list the following cultures in order of superiority?
American
Canadian
British
Australian
If you can do it with Arabs and persions etc....whats your thoughts on these ones? Feel You are culturally inferior to australians for example? Maybe culturally superior?

It's not a scale, or a hierarchy, but you can judge other cultures on a case to case basis. For example I would say that a culture that has the death penalty is less moral than one that has abolished it, or a culture that mistreats its minorities is also morally inferior as civil rights are concerned.
That doesn't mean that the entire culture is 'bad', that would be a manichean way of seeing things and besides a culture that is 'all bad' couldn't survive itself. But we can tell when a culture tends to do more oppressive things and cause more harm to its own population than another.

Hmmm. I don't think it necessarily follows that just because you say some things are better than other that you should then be able to rank everything of that type in order of greatness. For example, if I say some paintings are better than others, that doesn't necessarily mean I will be able to go to the Metropolitan Museum of Art and rank every painting there, yet my statement is still true and non-controversial.
I can think of dozens of measures, but wouldn't you agree that woman's rights, productivity, gay and minority rights, or freedom of the press are at least some of the many objective standards societies can be measured against one another?
