McLarin was on the scene sometime in the fall of 67 after the filming and saw the trackway; then he returned the next summer and there were still traces. He followed the trackway as best he could, yet the Green film shows he did not follow the exact route of PattyBob as shown on film. ie the trackway may not have matched PattyBob's actual route.
Or, another possible...(and likely)....explanation for Jim's and Patty's paths not matching exactly, is that it was 8 months later....and most of the tracks were simply gone....making it difficult to precisely match Patty's trackway.
Ain't that a wild theory??!
But, despite that, it can be seen in the films that at the point where they both walk by the large piece of wood.....their paths are very close to each other.
