August Stundie Nominations

He has irrefutable proof that is is difficult to prove! :D

The "Earth Circles around the sun was hard to disprove" is a classic...either of insane woo belief and a truly remarkable ability to say the opposite of what your mean.....

They say this, but mean that.

They may be telling us we got global warming problems in order to make us use less energy.
Why would they want us to use less energy ?

If we believe it is warmer we use less energy (oil electricity), we become hardier and therefore put less strain on the energy infrastructure.
But the energy can be made to last a lot longer, it can be stretched out by making the people think its warmer than it actualy is, which is conditioning , and of course the price of energy will continue to rise, this means profits can be maximised and preserved into the future.

Even though we know its colder for longer, we will still pay more for less.

I see it as business as usual

Hm... looks like article title attracted unexpected guest:

Even with the original story posted, I still don't get how we go from "big red switch next to the door needs a cover" to "some electrician drilled into a UPS". Do these two parts of the story relate to each other at all ? Did the electrician plan to use parts of the UPS to fashion a make-shift cover ? Why would he drill into the UPS instead of unscrewing it's screws ?

None of this makes any sense. Terrible submission made worse by the editor.
Yeah, this seems like the kind of explanation that the government would have come up with in the Roswell era. They've become much more adept at cover-ups that don't raise red flags these days. For example, people TO THIS DAY still believe that airplanes brought down the twin towers.

And I thought avoidance of 911CT section here will make 911CT disappear completely... (but no follow up - everybody there ignored it)

Yep. It's a high quality Stundie. I like his post that started the mass issue as well:

The idea that someone one the internet has been able to type this with a straight face, thinking he has a serious point, thinking he has physics behind him. It hearts the brain. It is funny.
I think this is part of his debate technique. He "stupids" you until you just give up hope. The Almond made a great effort (almost makes the thread worth reading) but he too gave up. A new poster Slartibartfast is giving him a try now (I wish him all the patience in the world).

Perhaps, or rename it after them. The Jammies has a nice ring to it. :D

The award is named after Stundie because he was not only ignorant, but reveled in it.

An example of a Stundie post, "I'm illiterate and I'll illiterate again! Ha ha ha ha ha!!!!!!!!!!!" (No, I didn't make that up.)

Len Hart has produced a Stundie Diamond!

Try hurling a ball of modeling clay at a barn door. If you are Mickey Mantle reincarnated you might knock down the door if it is merely propped up. But you will NEVER ever penetrate the door itself. Try it! Another experiment. Replace the lead slug of a 30 caliber round with one of soft aluminum. Fire that round at a steel beam comparable to those at the WTC. Let me know if it ever penetrates the steel! Lotsa luck!

Len Hart is helping the political left not to fall too far behind in the Crazy Contest.

Newton is alive and well.

Mass conquers velocity.

The mass of the towers anchored securely in the mass of the earth far exceeds the mass of the aircraft.

According to Newton, it makes NO DIFFERENCE which of the two is moving, or if both are moving.

The result is the same whether it is the plane moving at 500 mph, OR the building moving at 500 mph.

It is now baseball season. If velocity made a difference, then a 100 mph fast ball would penetrate the wooden bat, leaving a smoking hole, when a batter holds a bat out to bunt. But the mass of the bat plus the mass of the player plus the mass of the earth supporting the player's cleats conquers the
speed of the ball. Think of the tower as a bat, and a plane as a ball.

What would happen if the plane were stationary, and the building fell on it at 500 mph? Same result either way.

Velocity is immaterial.

Newton says so.
