I got the phone call too, but I didn't answer when I noticed it said NRA on caller ID.

It might have been as simple as the NRA contracting with a polling firm that isn't very good at what they do.

But Bob's right, the most likely explanation is a liberal conspiracy to make the NRA look bad.
 
From digging around a little bit, these "poll" questions or a variant thereof have been going on for at least a year now. And quite a few of those called are/were not NRA members.

Obviously the left-wing conspiracy is much larger than we thought. :p

And well-funded, to be conducting these sorts of calling campaigns. Must be George Soros.

It's weird, if this is going on for a year or so, you'd think the NRA would try to stop it. Sue the people for using their name, that sort of thing.

Unless - the conspiracy has infiltrated the NRA itself! :eek:

So, no actual evidence of your claim, then, that the UN is trying to take away Americans' guns? The UN is far from perfect, but that doesn't mean it is automaticly guilty of every crazy conspiracy people want to accuse them of.

Now then, I've provided a Snopes article debunking the claim that any such UN effort exists. The UN document you provided showed the opposite of what you claimed. So what, then, do you base this belief on? Do you even still believe that the UN is trying to work around the Second Amendment in light of the information provided in this thread?

No, it's just part of how the organization is run. We try to keep it comfortable for everyone, not just one side of the political aisle. Hence, one of our directives is "Make no reference to any politician that hasn't been dead for at least 200 years."

All-volunteer group, but very professional. Our classes are extremely calm and friendly. Yet we still put a lot of lead downrange, and nearly all of it on target. :Banane36:

ETA: And nobody walks around on our line with loaded rifles. We run a cold line, and a tight ship. (I know it was a joke, but just in case...)

When you consider the fact that most major UN military actions have relied on the US for nearly all of their troops, the UN invading and overthrowing the US would be quite a feat.
 
I find it fascinating that the UN is simultaneously hopeless incompetent and a nefarious plot to take away our rights.
