The hunt for Raoul Moat

I wonder how likely that he's going to be taken alive?

The fact he is still alive after being surrounded is promising. Its one thing to 'declare war'another to go through with. Hopefully he just gives it up. Although sky say he is on the move which is less promising.

There's a guy on right now who can see him, and he's saying he stationary with the gun pointed under his chin. He'd been lying down, but is now sitting up.

Fumbling as Architect puts on BBC News 24, then realises that there's been no change for 10 minuytes, then remembers how he took the mick out of the Yanks for the OJ car chase live, then turns it back to Louis Theroux on Dave (no Top Gear on Dave - must be a miracle....)

It's a stand-off, and the news journalist is seriously struggling for things to say to get the locals to keep saying stuff.

If we had an alarm to say when something was actually happening, it would be good. Meanwhile, I'm going to go back and see which house the well-heeled couple buy.

I've watched QI and flicked back to News 24. Things don't seem to have changed much in Rothbury, all the news reporters are doing a Phil Space impression.

Or wearing a coat, or near a goat...

Hostage situation is what they said, but I think things are quite confused.

The reporter on News 24 said hostage situation, but that was a while ago and they haven't repeated it.

Sometimes Britian seems almost quaint

From http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/england/tyne/10523318.stm

"People will see armed officers on the streets. This is a precautionary measure to protect and reassure them.
"Rest assured everything is being done to bring this to a conclusion."

It almost reads as though they are apologising to the general public for having armed officers in the area, and possibly scaring people

They are - is this a bad thing? :con2:

Anyone else get the feeling that Derrick Bird might have given this guy ideas?

That and his body building steroids addling his brain - never trust people with muscular eyebrows

Sky news have apparently reported that Gazza has turned up claiming to be a friend of Moat's, and brought food and water. If true, that's insane.

ETA Snap, Delscottio!

Tom@Sky:
Paul Gascoigne has told Real Radio he knew Moat years ago when he worked a bouncer in Newcastle. The former footballer described him as a "gentleman" and said someone must have wound him up or done something.
Tom@Sky:
Police claim Paul Gascoigne does not know Moat.
So, Gazza just turned up with some cheese and ham butties and a flask of tea? You really could not make this up.
