Jewish dance group stoned in Hanover, Germany

The only reason I see why you would bring up those kids' parents' heritage, is because you think they've got legitimate grievances against Israel, so therefore according to you throwing pebbles at those Jews was in a twisted way justified.

Yeah, i'm sure that's the only reason you can see. I on the other hand saw confusion about what happened while reading the thread, looked up the facts with my fancy german skills and posted the results. Those interested, like ddt, can follow the link. You are unwilling to learn, so just leave it and don't bother me anymore with your *selfcensored*

If you answered questions truthfully, we wouldn't need to finish your thoughts for you, CE.

I ask again, what relevance is it that these kids are from Palestinian, Iranian and Lebanese families?

You're still not answering.

Maybe you're waiting for DDT to answer for you?

Shouldn't you be reading the material you've been given? Three detailed articles all at once. Apparently you haven't read them, otherwise you'd certainly picked up that one of the kids shouted antisemitic slogans through a megaphone.

Were you chanting "Jews get out" when you were snowfighting?

BTW, snowballs tend to splatter and disintegrate on impact, so bad analogy, pal. Thanks for apologizing for the German racists.

His point was that snowballs that have over night to freeze solid do not spatter so much. So kids throwing chunks of ice at each other is a fair approximation of stones.

Can one or two thrown rocks, in theory, kill an adult? Yes. Is it a realistic threat? No. Is it a "deadly weapon"? Clearly not.

We've had a series of links where, despite the headlines, there is no evidence of serious injury beyond minor scalp woulds requiring stitches.

Am I going to be in the **** when someone figures out what I'm doing? Probably.
I thoroughly enjoyed your gambit, play on!

Actually, I wasn't. You haven't spent much time in winter weather, have you.

The post I responded to was asking about children and rock throwing.

You see, the thing is that snowballs don't remain soft and splattery when they stay out overnight. In fact they turn hard. Very hard, even solid. Very much like ice balls, which isn't too surprising since that is what they become. One could even describe them as rock-like.

The childhood revelation I was recounting concerned the discovery that throwing something which has become that hard is not a good idea, even in the hands of small children.

Hence the reference to bloodshed and the re-evaluation of the process by a chastened and regretful pack of small children.

Hope that clears things up for you.

(BTW. Your award for leaping at conclusions should be in the mail soon. If it doesn't get there it is probably a Jew-hating racist that is at fault. We'll blame it on them anyway. Okay?)

With your eyes.

What about Google Translate?
one of the things people who are not trying to be ******** will do, when attempting to educate, is direct people to things in a language they can understand.
To some people, demonstrating their superior intellect is their only enjoyment in life. We refer to them as TROLLS

You're welcome to provide further English articles on the incident. You could also review the initial reaction when details from one German article were mentioned. You could also read the contents of my spoiler-tag.

In an honest attempt to help with the education thing, for Firefox users at any rate, I would like to take this opportunity to give my recommendation for the "BabelFish Instant Translation" plug-in by NettiCat. (free)

It supports dozens of languages, hasn't seemed to create any system issues in the months I've been using it, and puts translation literally a highlight and keystroke away. Lots of display and style options.

Of course all the expected problems of computer translation apply, but since sources are not always available in everyone's native tongue it has proven to be far better than nothing, and is incredibly convenient.

I've been very pleased with it, and I don't usually care for plug-ins that much.

Not sure about other browser versions.

How megalomanic can you get? "Social challenge"? German reunification was/is a social challenge, the economic crisis is a social challenge. How vile antisemitism is, what's new about this incident that makes this a special social challenge?
The recent (last decade?) large influx of Muslims and the attendant difficulties associated with assimilation.

Point taken. I thought you were using the comparison with friendly snowfight to diminish what happened.

My bad.

Some children of middle eastern immigrants to Germany threw pebbles at a dance troupe of native German Jews (that did Jewish traditional dances?) that was introduced as Israeli. One of the dancers was slightly injured as a result.

This sounds like an unfortunate event. It sounds less unfortunate than if the dancers had been stoned as the thread title suggests. It also sounds less unfortunate than if the dancers had been thrown at by adults. And it sounds like the troupe may possibly have been thrown at because the children, based on information from parents, were upset with Israeli policies and they saw these dancers as representatives of the people that they felt were mistreating fellow Muslim middle easterners.

So once again a misleading thread title manages to suck me in, but in this case I am happy that the situation was so much less bad than I had imagined based on the thread title.
