Public Nudity acceptable or not?

All those who are happy for people to go around naked, try taking the tube train in london during peak working hours, where you will most likely have to spend the trip with a man's bare penis pressed up against your bottom.

No, but I would be fully clothed. Just because people may be allowed to be naked does not mean that most would actually choose to do so.

I recently saw a video where a man was standing around in the nip and is approached by a couple of cops and told to re-robe, after he refuses the police begin to get physical and end up tasing (sp?... tasering???) the chap.

I suspect there is a lot that you're leaving out that occurred between ""after he refuses" and "end up tasering the chap".

And you want to see all the pictures and footage you can, we get it.

Public nudity is obviously acceptable in places where it isn't outlawed.

I recall being a bit taken aback when running in a Munich park , to meet an entirely naked gentleman with his clothes in a shoulder bag. I returned his polite greeting and continued on my way. I suppose if it became commonplace, one would cease to even notice. I'd suggest it be restricted to parks or public squares and such.
I have no objection to nudity in itself- but people do leak and such leakage is best kept clear of foodstuffs and electrics.
It's fine in a situation of relaxation, but on a crowded tram?

That is apparently common enough in Munich; on a hot day office workers will head to the nearest green spot, disrobe and catch some rays. AFAIK it's specifically sunbathing, I've haven't seen them walking around the local Aldi or beerhalls undressed.

An individual who is fighting for the right to walk naked in public, in Scotland has been in jail for much of the last few years.

He's known as the Naked Rambler, and was told recently he might spend the rest of his life in prison. He gets sentenced for X amount of time for breach of the peace, gets released, then immediately re-arrested as he refuses to wear clothes, even when summoned to court.

Personally I don't care about public nudity. I saw enough sagging tits and hmmmm "beards" in the park near my home to be immunized for life agaisnt any sort of nudity whatsoever. Even with perky breast and thin hair cover, after a while you tend to ignore it. Only when people are not acquainted to it they get embarrassed or aroused.

Now what i would like a law AGAINST, is public odor. Should be neutral, not too sweaty as in not-washed-for-the-last-5-days and not stinky as in put-the-whole-bottle-of-parfum-on-me.

If you walk around naked children can see you. Maybe I'm a prude but that bothers me. An elderly fat gray ol man like me walking around naked shouldn't be tased if I did that; I ought to be shot.

I don't mind if people want to go nude in public, but being in a wheelchair means I am at fat and fag height most of the time and I don't really want to add naked arses to that, especially in the supermarket. Perhaps it should be kept to parks, beaches and pétanque pitches.

A man is threatened with spending his life in prison for walking around naked in the UK?

What a sad, pathetic country I inhabit.

Yes.

Why?

Or other people could avert their gaze if the sight of your body offends them.
Pardon me for being old fashioned but I believe children should go through a long stage of sexual innocence. They should be aware of certain differences in sexes and I don't believe that their natural curiousities should be punished but to have an adult deliberately display their private areas so that children can see them is wrong to me.

Please tell me why you think I'm wrong.

He's not threatened with spending his life in prison. He gets repeated short sentences for Outraging Public Decency/Contempt of Court. This is almost leading back into the FOTL thing...you may not agree with a law, but that doesn't give you a right to break it.

I've only watched a few minutes of the naked ramblers television self publicity, and he strikes me as an arrogant exhibitionist who uses his 'free love' ideals to justify repeatedly cheating on his girlfriend.

What has being naked got to do with being sexual?

Doesn't the sexualised media children are exposed to do more to erode their sexual innocence than seeing naked people behaving in non-sexual ways?

The media is on TV and in magazines and by not allowing children to see adult programs you can preserve their innocence for a time. I'm talking about kids younger than 13 whom I feel are better off not seeing naked adults walking around. In societys where nudity is the norm its ok but in places like London and new York city I feel you should have your clothes on when you walk around. Great britain and the USA is not New Guinea.

I wasn't referring to the media aimed at adults sexualising children, but the products, adverts and TV shows aimed directly at them.

What innocence is being lost by seeing a naked person who is not behaving in a sexual way? In fact, wouldn't it be a novelty and a benefit for children to see that naked does not mean sexual?
