Was Christopher Columbus obsessed with the Bible

The US is changing (for the worse I believe )
So you believe that we shouldn't have
1.) Abolished slavery?
2.) enacted the civil rights?
3.) allowed women the right to vote?
4.) enact environmental protections?
5.) Established worker saftey rights?
6.) ensure the safety of cosmetics, foods and pharmaceuticals?
7.) Provide equal rights to those with disabilities?
8.) provide a high standard of health care for all citizens?
9.) enforce the freedom of (and from) religion provided to us by the constitution?

WEll, those last two are in development.

You believe these are changes for the worse?

OR do you mean
1.) invading a nation under false pretenses?
2.) enacting hiring policies that place christian values over competency, resulting in ethical and functional problems?
3.) blocking the rights of habeus corpus?
4.) Infringing upon our 4th amendment rights in the name of national security?
5.) Allowing local municipalities to take private land for emminent domain and give that land to a more wealthy owner?
6.) stop-loss?
7.) providing corporate welfare?
8.) Waterboarding?
9.) Rendition?
10.) blocking stem cell research?
11.) underfunding research.

Cause I think that second set is a bad course. That's why I'm not voting for McCain.

The US is changing (for the worse I believe - read the paper); but these former presidents didn't seem to have a problem saying or implying it:

So, again, I'll ask. Why does a God-fearing Christian, G.W.Bush, not refer to this country as a Christian nation? Why does neither the executive, the legislative nor the judicial branch of the government refer to America as a Christian nation?

Yes, but the top seven in your list would more than likely be flying a swastica or a rising sun on their flagpoles now if it wasn't for the Christian US and Great Britain.
There were far more christains in Germany than Great Britain at the time of the war.
A religious census taken in 1925 revealed that of an overall German population of 65 million, 40 million belonged to the main Protestant (Evangelical Lutheran) church, 21 million to the Roman Catholic church, and 620,000 to various smaller, mostly Protestant denominations.

The idea goes back at least 2000 years. As Cicero said: O tempora, O mores! (Oh the times. Oh the morals.)

But the press these days, is so much worse than any other time in history. Which is why they're writing up the Alien and Sedition Acts.

I wonder if DOC still feels we are worse off now then 2000 years ago.

And educational. They clearly mark transitional forms from stupid to stupid.

Well, this thread has been quite the education.

Just want to make a slight correction: "Oh the times. Oh the customs" is probably better.
