Israel's no-compromise attitude to aid convoys could be tested again after two Lebanese organisations pledged to send boats to Gaza in the next few days. Reporters Without Borders is attempting to assemble 25 European activists and 50 journalists for a boat leaving Beirut. The Free Palestine Movement is planning a similar attempt.

George Galloway, the founder of Viva Palestina, announced in London that two simultaneous convoys "one by land via Egypt and the other by sea" would set out in September to break the Gaza blockade. The sea convoy of up to 60 ships will travel around the Mediterranean gathering ships, cargo and volunteers.

After fabricating the Al Qaeda accusation, the IDF has been caught again:

The IDF’s propaganda is increasingly unbelievable, yet the media is enthusiastically playing along. This audio, which purports to show flotilla passengers telling the IDF to “go back to Auschwitz,” appears to have been doctored by the IDF General Press Office or someone connected to it.

The clip originally released by the IDF on May 31 of its exchange with the Mavi Marmara, which is featured below, shows the IDF warning the ship’s crew, “Mavi Marmara, you are appproaching an area of hostility which is under a naval blockade. The Gaza area coastal region and Gaza harbor are closed to all maritime traffic…” The Mavi Marmara responded to the IDF’s warning: “Negative, negative. Our destination is Gaza. Our destination is Gaza.” There was no reference to Auschwitz in the video the IDF released on May 31.

In other words, the IDF still maintains that a transmission telling them to "go back to Auschwitz" came from a ship in the Hamas smuggling fleet.

I'm glad we've cleared that up.

I would suggest that the buttholes who said "go back to Auschwitz" got the people on the Mavi Marmara killed if it weren't for the fact that the buttholes on the Mavi Marmara managed to get themselves killed just fine stabbing two Israeli servicemen before the shooting started.

Emily Henochowicz, 21, an art student in New York, came to Israel six weeks ago as an exchange student at Bezalel Academy of Art and Design in Jerusalem. She has participated in a number of protests in the West Bank. Last Monday, after the takeover of the Mavi Marmara, Henochowicz took part in a demonstration at the Qalandiyah checkpoint together with a few dozen protesters. Border Policemen fired tear gas grenades to disperse the protest, one of which struck Henochowicz in the face. She was taken to Hadassah University Hospital, Ein Karem, where she underwent surgery. In addition to losing her left eye, Henochowicz is suffering from fractures to her face. She returned to the United States on Saturday night for continued treatment.

Henochowicz's father, a doctor, is originally from Israel and she also has Israeli citizenship.

Nah, that spoof was made by some Israeli citizens. It's the same as if you or I recorded that song. I think it got sent by a spokesman by accident together with all the other videos. Not a big deal. Why are you referencing it here?
In addition, Lefty groups are big in Israel.

According to that they admitted they edited the recording to remove silence and unintelligible speech. They also said that it is an open radio channel and could not positively identify the statement as coming from the flotilla. They did not say they faked any part of it.

The article even says whomever sent it apologized a few hours later, saying it was a mistake.

It would be interesting to see who these reserve officers are, and find out what they've said in the past about any military action taken by the IDF - just to get some context.

The claim was retracted and the comments were attributed to an open channel. It may have come from the MM, it may not have. The comment was still made.

No, they thought the transmission came from the Mavi Marmara. An easy assumption to make given the violent stabbing incident that started the firefight.

The fact remains, someone on that channel said the most hateful thing they could come up with to inflame and infuriate the Israeli servicemen.

it's revealing that you don't think whoever it was bears any responsibility for the fight.
