I doubt very much if a definitive list exists. My understanding is that the restrictions are quite arbitrary and most goods are sometimes stopped and sometimes let through.

Just a friendly note, a Bic pen (hard crystalline shaft, not the flexible) used correctly and swiftly can let you bleed out your carotid, lose you an eye or ear use, terminate your ability to walk or even stand,put a hole in your heart....., so can a 5-6" nail; rolled magazine or newspaper can interfere with your ability to take a breath for sufficient time to terminate you, etc. So, actual items of mass and club or knife shape can certainly serve as effective weapons. I prefer guns, but.....

I understand anything can be a weapon. I was trying to look at the picture with a skeptical eye.

The knives, could have been pulled out of the kitchen by the IDF with the intention of fabricating evidence, or they could have been pulled out by the activists to use as impromptu weapons against the IDF. A picture doesn't show either way, but I think the tool handles are very clearly fabricated weapons, which show intent on the part of the activists.

By the same token, that they had to prepare these weapons en-route suggests they may not have left port with the plan to use violence, or at least not all of them, but came up with it on the way.

And that is the real goal of this organization, which they freely state for all to hear. And once that happens, Hamas has an easy way with which to import heavy weapons Iran and Syria are all too happy to supply them with.

The goal of the activists is the removal of the blockade. This would lead to even more weapons being shipped into Gaza, unimpeded by Israel. Plain and simple. Saying that boats should be let through the blockade without being searched because they don't carry rocket launchers is as stupid as me saying I shouldn't have to go through the security screener at the airport because I know I don't have a gun in my backpack.

The IDF has shot and killed civilians and protestors, though it's true that most of the activists weren't expecting live ammunition to be used against them, certainly not in international waters.

Have I missed something? In order for force to have been deadly someone has to die. Did any of the IDF die?

As nine of the protesters died one can certainly say the IDF used deadly force.
