Merged Israel Attacks Palestinian Aid Flotilla, According To Reports

This is phenomenally stupid, even for you.

I'm a member of a MySpace group, a site I haven't even logged into since 2008. Someone else, who uses a Hamas avatar, is also a member of this inactive MySpace group.
That was the MySpace group that liked to hang out on roadsides with a "Free Palestine" banner?

Did an algorithm automatically make you a member of that group, or did you join them yourself?

Do you think Israel has a right to exist Cleon? The official policy of your now-defunct (moved to Facebook) MySpace group seems to be no, Israel has no right to exist and Palestine must be "free".

What sort of coward takes an infant along with them on a blockade-running attempt? These parents should be detained in a psychological facility until it is determined they are sane and their children should be protected from their reckless and dangerous lifestyle.

I've heard this one before!

"Well its their fault for bringing children to a warzone!"

Israel had no right to act the way they did - noone could have predicted that the IDF would go mental and start killing people for no reason.

I didn't realise a "covenant" was such a powerful weapon that it could be an existential threat to a nuclear armed state that receives billions of dollars every year in military aid! :jaw-dropp

So any neighbour of a nuclear-armed state is within its rights to change its constitution to include specific threats against the existence of that state? How long do you suppose Finland would have remained unoccupied if it had done that in the 1950s?

evidence?

I have no idea. You're telling the story, and that story has absolutely nothing to do with any of my posts.

Of course any state is within its rights to include whatever it likes within its constitution.

In any case this isn't even relevant as the statement is in Hamas' constitution, not Palestine's

Oh my merry maker, they brought a crescent wrench, some pliers and a screwdriver aboard a ship driven by an engine??!! What possible use could they have, except for mauling Israeli soldiers? Well, I certainly can't think of any!
Did you see the video of them using those things not to fix the engine of a ship, but to beat IDF soldiers who boarded it?

Are you claiming the IDF video was faked Kotatsu?

"associated with known terrorist organisations" is a nice catch all used to mean "anyone we don't like" by Israel. Since Israel defines pretty much every palestinian organisation and most NGOs aimed at improving conditions in palestine as terrorist this covers pretty much everyone in or near palestine.

I can only speak for myself, but to me the very existence of borders is an insult to human dignity and intelligence, and borders which are actively patrolled and even blockaded are terrible, and I have nothing but contempt for them, regardless of who is doing the blockading.
And then this...

You will of course oblige me by pointing out those posters who have claimed here that Hamas should have "seaports with which to import weapons to use against Israel" and that they would, if that was the case, be "allowed to use those weapons against Israel and Israel is not allowed to defend herself from that". Thank you!
So I take it you supported Israel during Operation Cast Lead? Because otherwise I'll make you the poster I single out for supporting my claim.

Did you support Operation Cast Lead Kotatsu?

ok lets take a Spanish aidconvoy.
Hamas is boarding it to search for goods Hamas imposed a ban on Israel.
you would expect the spanish activists on the vessel to not ressist?

thats fine.

Of course. Unless you're terminally stupid (doh!) you don't attack armed soldiers with potentially lethal force and expect to walk away.
At least I don't.
On the other hand: every dead Palestinian/useful idiot is a good one. To them, that is, because it garners sympathy and support for their "cause".

.. and I'm actually a ponytailed left-winger ... :D

I don't know how sending food to malnourished people constitutes **** with Israel

Was it the only way to send food there? Was it the most effective way? Egypt apparently offered to get it in there, if they couldn't trust the Israeli land routes option. Clearly it wasn't effective--do you think they really had a chance at running the blockade? Do you think they thought they had a chance at running the blockade? Obviously they failed at that, so what good was accomplished? Anybody fed?

The whole thing was meant to fail, it was an engineered confrontation for the purpose of creating "victims" to wallow self-righteously in PR. Has even that accomplished anything? Everybody who hates Israel still hates them, and everybody who supports Israel still supports them. Those who don't care still don't care.

But please don't let's pretend anybody actually expected them to win a confrontation with the IDF. The most naive possibly imagined that Israel wouldn't dare to touch them, as they are international intellectuals! and then they could land, distribute largesse, and congratulate themselves on a vast moral victory. But the realists would have know they stood no chance and would indeed be stopped. The purpose was never the aid, the purpose was publicity and uproar.

Did you see the video of them using those things not to fix the engine of a ship, but to beat IDF soldiers who boarded it?

I certainly didn't, and I've watched all of the limited footage released by the IDF! (although I DO wonder why the IDF didn't release footage from BEFORE the scuffles broke out, you know, those bit in which eye-witnesses say the IDF was shooting BEFORE they landed on the ship! I wonder why they haven't released THAT footage?) I saw soldiers being attacked with sticks, projectiles, and a plastic chair, but definitely no wrenches, pliers or screwdrivers.

What the hell is that even supposed to mean? Your flag says you come from Canada, but obviously not the English speaking part, right?

Posting a single photo and thusly claiming there were no weapons on the vessel is not evidence of anything. Likewise, if there were weapons on the ship, what makes you think the Israelis would show them to you? There is not enough information to conclude one way or the other.

Did you support Operation Cast Lead Kotatsu?

WTF? Cast Lead was a humanitarian travesty, up to 1000 civilians killed, illegal use of WP in civilian areas etc

What essential goods are banned again?

Nobody knows, Isreal won't tell. We do have an idea of what IS allowed into the territory, and the list is very small

Funny, the 1967 border didn't prevent Israel from being attacked in 1967.

What's changed bit_pattern?

The Palestinian's didn't attack in 1967.
