Merged Israel Attacks Palestinian Aid Flotilla, According To Reports

Why weren't there any fightings in the other 5 ships? You think the IDF wanted the situation to become violent or was it the terrorists' acts on one ship that started this whole violence?

You say "that doesn't justify engaging in an act of piracy and killing ten people and wounding up to 80 then kidnapping and illegally detaining over 600 people" as if the IDF boarded the ship, started shooting blindly and took hostages. You view reality in a very distorted way.
Here, have one of these:
http://www.spectrasonics.net/libraries/distortedreality.php

How was your supposedly undistorted, view what happened on the ship formed, Mr/Ms Neutral Observer?

And you have absolutely no evidence for this.

Twooferspeak. ;)

You claimed there were no narratives apart from the Israeli one.

I proved you wrong by showing you two examples of different narratives on the day of the incident.

You said witness accounts had been blacked out, I showed you two examples of witness accounts that were on the television on the same day as the incident.

You even contradicted your own statement by showing a witness account.

You have been conclusively shown to be wrong and yet you still demand more witnesses. But what is the point - you will only invent some reason why it somehow does not count.

There will be many more coming in the next few days.

Hi Robin. Thanks for your comments. You don't appear to be reading or, at least, are completely failing to comprehend my replies to your enquiries so I won't be wasting any more time responding further.

he had a fair trial? and was convicted for terrorism?
Do you even read?:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mahmoud_al-Mabhouh
He admitted his involvement in the killing of two soldiers, the method in which he did it, and posed over 1 of the bodies in a photo. The IDF tried to arrest him, and failed in doing so. At this point, killing him on his trip to Dubai was the option pursued, after 2 previous attempts failed to kill him.
so you have rights that others dont have, interesting.
So you support a known terrorist organization practicing the rights of actual countries. Interesting.

and even if my neighbor was a convicted murderer, it goves me no right to self justice.
And in this hypothetical situation (since you've only presented hyothetical situation to detract from the actual events pertaining to this thread), what if this neighbor had the intent to kill again and the police forces were unable to detain him prior to this, would you think it justifiable to kill him them?

To pull you back out of this hypothetical situation, put this on the scale of intelligence agencies and armed forces and their responsibility to their citizens to protect them from harm. This is the job of said agencies to their people.

And before you try to apply this concept to Hamas, Hamas uses its population as political tool and cannon fodder, which is contrary to stated intentions of security and intelligence agencies.

Capiche?

it is said only 1/4 of the goods go into gaza since the blockade, compared to the ammount went in before the blockade.
Yes, if you compare the amounts of metal (ie washing machines) and dual purpose fertilizers used in explosives/missile production in tonnage, then yes, it does add up.

Or do you think it alright for Israel to provide a few hundred tons of dual purpose fertilizer for weapons production (ie, that donkey laden with explosives that was blown up by the security fence a couple weeks ago) on a monthly basis only to have it used on Israel's people?

Logic?

And yes, would still like to see this source of the 1/4 amount.

That's a very curious statement. I've heard the exact opposite on Swedish radio, read it in Metro (http://www.metro.se/se/article/tt/2010/06/02/israelgazawebb/ ; Swedish only, it seems), and from friends who have read about people being imprisoned elsewhere.
Should've clarified that these people were detained for a brief period before being released. And this happens even after some of these people beat, stabbed, shot, and/or threw IDF soldiers overboard after a non-aggressive boarding....

"Non-aggressive"?

"Non-aggressive"?

Surreal, isn't it?

Witness testimony begins to emerge:

Gaza flotilla activists deported to Jordan claim Israeli mistreatment

The decision to free the detainees came as more accounts from those on the ships began to emerge.

One Briton who was on one of the boats heading towards Gaza arrived back in Britain last night.

IT professional Hasan Nowarah, from Glasgow, described the moment Israeli troops stormed the aid flotilla.

He told Sky News the Mavi Marmara ship was surrounded by helicopters and Zodiac assault craft.

"All you could see was screaming and bullets. Out of the blue as I looked around our ship, all I could see were hundreds of Zodiacs: hundreds of Zodiacs full of soldiers, and big ships, lots of ships, and I believe as well submarines in the sea," he said.

...

One of the group deported to Jordan today, Walid al-Tabtabai, a Kuwaiti politician who was on board one of the ships with other activists from Muslim countries, said: "The Israelis roughed up and humiliated all of us: women, men and children.

"They were brutal and arrogant, but our message reached every corner of the world, that the blockade on Gaza is unfair and should be lifted immediately."

Like many passengers on the flotilla he insisted there were no weapons on any of the ships.

An Algerian, Izzeddine Zahrour, said the Israeli authorities "deprived us of food, water and sleep, and we weren't allowed to use the toilet".

"It was an ugly kidnapping, and subsequently bad treatment in Israeli jail," he said. "They handcuffed us, pushed us around and humiliated us."

Mauritanian Mohammed Gholam said Israel "wanted us to sign documents saying that we entered Israel illegally".

An Algerian activist, who giving only a first name of Sabrina, accused Israeli commandos of taking a one-year-old child hostage.

"They point a gun to his head in front of his Turkish parents to force the captain of our ship to stop sailing," she said.

Israel releases Gaza flotilla activists – live coverage:

Huwaida Arraf, one of the Free Gaza Movement organisers, claimed she was beaten when Israeli troops boarded her ship.

She told CNN:
"They started coming after our ship so we took off and they charged us also. Eventually, they overtook our ship and they used concussion grenades, sound bombs and pellets."

They started beating people. My head was smashed against the ground and they stepped on my head. They later cuffed me and put a bag over my head. They did that to everybody."

One of the Swedes mentioned this as well, but also mentioned that the Israeli let him add whatever he wanted to the document. He added something to the effect that he had not entered Israel illegally, but had been kidnapped and brought there by Israeli troops, and apparently the Israeli officials allowed him to do that, which is to their credit.

And Israel's message reached every corner of the world as well, and that message was "Don't **** with us". A very practical message for any nation to send.

Another video has emerged of reporters broadcasting in several languages from the Mavi Marmara as the raid was taking place. People already injured before helicopters attack:

Keep repeating this. You make it seem innocuous in addition to the pistols, knives (not of the kitchen type) and improvised explosives found. Keep pedaling.

Lie. The only firearms allegedly used, and this is from Israeli sources, were handguns taken from soldiers that illegally boarded the vessel. If there really WERE firearms and explosive on board you can be sure that Israel would have advertised it widely instead of showcasing this laughable cache of "weapons" ie. the tools you would normally find on board any ship, including knives from the galley

I love that killing 2 soldiers is proof of terrorism when looking to justify assasination, but killing 9 non-national civilians is legitimately within the law of war when looking to justify another.

If I were to argue that the IDF forces were the terrorists, how would that be any less accurate?

Cenk Uygar from The Young Turks is onto this, he was interpreting the Turkish comments to reveal the timeline.

Were any of them Israeli?

Box full of plates, stun grenades, metal chains, pipes, and yes, even a menacing plastic chair/step ladder all throw from a height can be very deadly.

What sort of coward takes an infant along with them on a blockade-running attempt? These parents should be detained in a psychological facility until it is determined they are sane and their children should be protected from their reckless and dangerous lifestyle.

But...but...JihadJane said the Jews were excellent at manipulating public opinion to support a 'dominant narrative'. As it turns out, they screwed up in the planning and execution of what should have been a peaceful commandeering because they underestimated the willingness of 'activists' to die for their cause and to irresponsibly endanger the lives of small children.

No, you guys were talking about the right to defense, which in your minds only extends to Israel, whereas Palestine - whose women and children have suffered ten times more than Israel's - are expected to be good, subservient little slaves.

And keep perpetuating the myth that a tinpot militia can be an existential threat to a nuclear power with one of the worlds most efficient militaries!

Poor Israel, always the victim
Have you ever read the Hamas Covenent bit_pattern?

What parts of it do you like most?

I didn't realise a "covenant" was such a powerful weapon that it could be an existential threat to a nuclear armed state that receives billions of dollars every year in military aid! :jaw-dropp

It's typically hand-waved away by everyone as is Egypt's attitude towards the governing party of Gaza. Much easier to raise the 'insufficient humanitarian aid' trope and zazz it up with lies about importing shiploads of LEGO® bricks for disadvantaged children.

What? How does that relate to my post n anyway whatsoever?
