'They'll build bunkers' is a weak weak weak defense in claiming that the materials are 'terrorist supplies.' They contraband an item that can allow the palestinians to rebuild their homes/schools/stores/hospitals under the excuse of 'it could make bunkers' but Israel doesn't lift a finger to stop the tons of cement that gets sent to the illegal settlements peppering the west bank. For example AlJazeera on Monday night broadcast passenger accounts of the attack, contrasting them with Israeli accounts. That was about 10pm Australian time.

They did not provide names and addresses of the witnesses so I cannot supply those. But either AlJazeera were broadcasting witness accounts or they were making it all up.

Not very conclusive. There were short accounts from the ship via satellite before their connection was cut off.

I'd be interested to know about other witnesses.

The witness testimony was of people being shot in the head:

The shots on board were from before Israel cut off all the activists' communication with the outside world. This silence persisted for quite a while!

Blacking out the activists' versions of events was achieved by removing all their forms of communication, kidnapping them and imprisoning them, incommunicado, in the desert.

The account I quoted was from one of the now released detainees.

(AP) CAIRO — An Egyptian official says the government is temporarily lifting its blockade of the Gaza Strip to allow aid into the area a day after Israel raided an international flotilla carrying supplies to the Palestinian territory and killed nine activists.

The governor of northern Sinai, Murad Muwafi, says President Hosni Mubarak ordered the opening of the border crossing to Gaza in the town of Rafah for several days.

Muwafi says the opening of the crossing – which Egypt sealed after Gaza was taken over by Hamas militants in 2007 – is an effort to "alleviate the suffering of our Palestinian brothers after the Israeli attack" on the flotilla.
