Evidence for why we know the New Testament writers told the truth.

I'd rather take my chances with some lashes then get due process from the Roman authorities of that time. Jesus got due process by Pontius Pilate (at least according to the Roman Sentator/Historian Tacitus).

Are you saying Jesus couldn't have advocated a more just system?
Are you saying Jesus, who was the son of god, didn't know of better alternatives except for beating people?
Why didn't he advocate a means of trail by Jury?
Why didn't he advocate a system of Democracy?
Or maybe, you are stating Jesus was too afraid or too powerless to broach these subjects, but instead told people that it is acceptable to beat your servants.

If I received an A from Harvard in philosophy 101 would it affect your belief about the bible.
No but it might affect my belief about your honesty. You see if you did get an A in philosophy from an accredited and respected university then your are clearly dishonest in your use of every logical fallacy known to man. If it was from some christian diploma mill then you may just be ill-educated and not very smart in that a great many posters here have tried to explain why your arguments are fallacious.

Jesus advocated a lesser punishment - let's say 3 lashes to your back.

Personally I would much rather receive Jesus' punishment and be sore for a few days, then get your punishment of being fired from my job and then being turned over to authorities. Especially during that time when the Roman soldiers weren't too compassionate with prisoners.
It's funny that, now that it's your back, we are down from 10 lashes to 3. Maybe that's why you never answered this question:

Elizabeth I said:
doc, would you like to give me a whip and let me take ten lashes at you and see whether you would rather have that than a sunburn? And that's a question intended to see if you can think at all, not a threat.

Now, about that list of people you've convinced with the evidence . . .
If I did convince anyone to accept Christ I certainly wouldn't recommend that they mention it in here anymore than I would recommend that someone I convinced to become a boxer to step into the ring with a seasoned fighter in a all out fight. It takes many years of study in a lot of different fields to do what I'm doing. It would be very difficult for a brand new Christian to do it.

You are a fantasist. A 12-year-old with a "bible for dummies" book could do what you're doing.

What is your evidence that a servant could possibly think that beating up other servant was not against his masters will?

It is clear that the the ignoring the will of the master is unconnected to the earlier example for which the punishment is to be cut in sunder.

If I did convince anyone to accept Christ I certainly wouldn't recommend ...
Did?

Wouldn't?

So, you're saying that - so far - you have yet to convince even ONE person that your woo is the one true woo?

Seriously DOC, stop pretending that your posts have been of value to anyone

There are reasons why your so-called arguments have consistently failed

However, those reasons are not excuses

If I did convince anyone to accept Christ . . .

That wasn't what you were asked, was it, DOC? It's completely irrelevant.

You were asked, and are still being asked, 'How many people have you convinced that the NT writers told the truth?'

It's the entire objective of your OP. Remember?

How about an honest answer, DOC, just for the sake of variety?

Do you even know what 'relevant' means?

It takes many years of study in a lot of different fields to do what I'm doing.

You have no debating skills, are unable to apply logic or critical thinking, have an extremely poor understanding of all science and are barely able to conform to the conventions of written English.

And you claim to have studied to reach these abysmal depths?

Such a claim would be hilarious if it wasn't so pathetic.

It would be very difficult for a brand new Christian to do it.

A newborn has more credibility than you do, DOC, regardless of its faith.

Why have you failed to convince a single person that there is any evidence that the New Testament writers told the truth?

I'll just keep making the question bigger until you answer it, DOC.

If I received an A from Harvard in philosophy 101 would it affect your belief about the bible.

No

It would influence my opinion of Harvard.

Are you saying you had to study to make irrational arguments that are devoid of fact?

ETA - silly question, but how do you guys know how many posts a given poster has in a thread? I hit "thread tools" but didn't see anything there, nor could I find any thing in the help / how to section. Thanks!

Dang! You've just reminded me that we (I) completely missed our 13000th post.

Triskaidekaforgetfulness!

I think it's time one of our resident monarchs dubbed DOC "Ironicles the Logician."

If Julius Caesar existed why do we have no signature from him. People complain about the Gospels not being signed but Julius Caesar (allegedly the most powerful man in the world at the time) gets a free pass when it comes to signing things.

Julius Caesar appeared to me personally and I now have a personal relationship with him so I know he's real.
