but issues will play a part in this - clegg on trident, immigration and Europe will probably be outside the majority view.

add that the whole expectation thing - much higher expectations for clegg this time, lower expectations for cameron and i think you'd almost expect cameron to "win" regardless of how he actually did....
 
The problem with Cameron is that, quite rightly, someone said he is useless without policies. The flip side is that if they tell us their policies no-one would vote for them.

That why they have resorted to the cutting waste BS. I think we need a change, but not to a Tory world.
 
Who is this woman complaining that Brown was daring to talk about policy? The are plenty of complaints you can make about Brown, but wrong for talking about policy. Bizarre.
 
Anyone else confused by Borwn's opening remarks the "If you want PR or style vote for the other two" - now I know that PR, proportional representation, is what the libs have on offer - but what's this "style" from the conservatives is it some other voting system?
 
Cameron could have vomited over the podium and tortured a kitten and he would still win in a Sun poll.

Come to think of it if he did that he'd probably actually go up in Sun readers estimation.

Certainly The Sun is partisan and it makes no apologies for that but YouGov would claim to be non-partisan and I would have to see some evidence that they are partisan before I'd accept that they are. (Yes I know the founders are Tories through and through and one of them owns http://conservativehome.blogs.com/ but that isn't enough.)

So what's your reason for the obvious blindness of the poll?
 
I couldn't quite believe the Pope question, and then again, their responses!

Would they ever have had those responses in the US? Brown was doing well until that entire 'good work in communities' talk, but Clegg really broke ground with saying he fundamentally disagreed with the Catholic Chruch over their doctrine on homosexuality.

Was really amazed, little to no 'deeply respect' bollocks.

Well that's what confuses me - it is a YouGov poll for the Sun.

Why is it not just a YouGov poll?

I would imagine a YouGov pol for th Guardian would be markedly different.

Because that is who is paying for it, what I suppose it could also mean is that the sample used for the poll was based on The Sun's readership demographics rather than representative of the country?
 
Interviews with student first time voters in Reading seems to say that Clegg won hands down amongst that group: but it is not a poll.

I must say I am really surprised if anyone thought Cameron did well: maybe it was different on TV but if that was better than last week it is amazing if he dresses himself even
