The only ones capable of committing crimes it seems is the fraud artists Dr. Jones and Mr. Mann.

Interesting use of language now that two (count 'em, two) independent investigations have found no evidence of either crime or fraud in these cases.

I wonder what the third independent investigation will show?

And I wonder if PopTech and the science-deniers will continue to spin all results which don't go their way as yet more evidence of The Conspiracy?

So the “tobacco doesn’t cause cancer” lobbyist turned wannabe climate scientists doesn’t like what the inquiries have to say? Oh noes!.

- It refers to the e-mails as "stolen."

Naturally, the opponents of carbon amelioration measures don't think it's stealing, when the theft is for a good cause.

That's why they will not object at all when a larger portion of the market value of their fossil fuel assets is taxed away to fund amelioration measures, by the lawfully constituted government, for the good of the (global) public.

Glad we cleared that hurdle out of the way!

Respectfully,

Now we WILL see some cooling....

Ash from volcano in Iceland disrupts European air travel

A picture taken on April 15, 2010 and released by Meteosat shows a dark cloud of volcanic ash spreading over Iceland. A volcanic eruption in Iceland fired ash across northern Europe forcing the closure of huge swathes of international airspace on Thursday which grounded hundreds of flights.

All flights in U.K. suspended or cancelled for first time in living memory

ClimateGate Whitewash (S. Fred Singer, Ph.D. Professor Emeritus of Environmental Science, University of Virginia, First Director, National Weather Satellite Center, Former Deputy Assistant Administrator, U.S. Environmental Protection Agency)
Once one reads the name, "Fred Singer," one really has no need to go further. There is no one out there with a more deservedly tarnished reputation. It is obvious that he has taken money for his positions, he has denied this in a way impossible to believe, and he has no serious publications on the various scientific topics that he has taken money from PR firms to speak on.

Why did you merge Poptech's conspiracy theory into the science thread?

There are certainly too many similar threads - for example I posted the outcome of the second CRU inquiry on the "Jones and CRU exonerated" thread yesterday morning and was puzzled when someone started a seperate thread for it hours later - but this thread is very specifically a place to link and discuss climate-related articles from scientific journals, so it does seem a very odd choice for this particular merge.

I started the new thread there and debated over simply posting in the existing thread. My logic behind a new thread was that this was a separate, new report and the existing thread had drifted far enough that it would likely not be noticed. While some may question the quality, there have been three pages of relevant discussion so I think I probably made the right decision, but I can definitely see merging the threads at some point.

As you point out. the science news thread is a different animal however. First it’s been one of the most on topic climate thread we have had and second, it’s focus on new peer reviewed papers is very different from the threads it was merged with.

The science press one had been reasonbly clear of silly arguements though, it seems a shame to mix it in with the others.

Well seeing that my post about the second inquiry was completely ignored and the off topic conversations already in progress on that thread carried on regardless, I guess your logic proved correct. :)
