• Quick note - the problem with Youtube videos not embedding on the forum appears to have been fixed, thanks to ZiprHead. If you do still see problems let me know.

H.a.a.r.p

Rory, if you had a better idea of what we know about the world through science as well as how we know it your perspective would change for the better. At the moment your imagination is unbounded on subjects like HAARP because you have no idea what is and isn't possible through such technology.
Im not the only one.

There are a lot of what I would term "intellectual snobs" on this website and in society in general that have a misguided view on what is important in this world These people deem things like Spelling, Grammar, Punctuation, and the like to be significant discussion points. English has become a global language used by people all over the world and if you understand the gist of the message that should really be enough. If I'm reading a post by the Dalai Lama for example, I couldn't give a flying fornication if he missed an apostrophe!!

you are right, i dont care. I've already said that, but i can say my talking is much better where grammar isnt needed to a certain point like typing, i dont plan to spend the rest of my life typing.

I have no clue what you are trying to say here aside from confirming that you have no intention of conveying a point in an intelligible manner.

You are right and wrong, i dont care that much for science, only when science is used to kill i care.

You are right and wrong; you clearly don't care for science but when has HAARP been used to kill people? How could it?

Evidence, not youtube videos and anecdotes about your circuit breaker would be appreciated.

Here's a new one for you, if the fog rolls in and people mysteriously start getting sick in that town, that week but the news says different what conclusion would you come up with? knowing the media (dare i say tv) is the best way to control thoughts? and reach people to make awareness - The xxxx flu has hit xxxx town, we advice you to go to your local Dr and take a vaccine. - damm its on the news, we gonna do it!! still that fog was strange the other week...

So, you're an anti-vaxxer now, too? Or, just a pro-deathfogger?

Wait.... that made absolutely no sense whatsoever.

ahhh back to the 'i dont understand what you saying'.. its pretty easy, work it out.. its pretty easy, nothing like a brain teaser.

Evidence will be given when they slip up, that is if they dont kill the person before it gets leaked.

Never said i was an anti-vaxxer, it was the same type of question i was asked, using my imagination i spose.. never excepted a serious reply, like he didn't.

Although since you asked and for clarification, i havent had a vaccine in over 15 years, i may get the cold or flu once a yr. However i fight it off with my immune system and it doesnt come back till a new strain is around.

It never ceases to amaze me that people who will admit, almost proudly, on the one hand to be completely ignorant of the ways in which things work and yet on the other hand claim to be privvy to insights which elude those of us who are actually well-versed in advanced scientific principles.

How these people are unable to see this disparity is a marvel in itself, although I think that calling it 'imagination' is being way too kind.

Any logical reason why you would believe the indicated statement?

Are you saying you know of evidence but refuse to reveal it or that it has yet to become evident because "they" have yet to slip up?

In any event, who are "they" and "the person"?

See how being clear might help?

So then, how do we tell which is which, gerg?

Not everyone is a spelling bee. But pseudoscience can be spotted a mile away.

Pseudoscience=religion.

You could not be more wrong. The single most important human invention is language. We are all of us alone, locked into a body with no way to communicate our thoughts to others but through language. If what you have to say is so important that it must be shared with the world, you owe it to everyone who pays you the courtesy of reading it to present your thoughts as clearly as possible. This is even more important on a written forum such as this, where all we have to go on are the words you type.
Would you buy cloths for your newborn?
No, I don't expect newborns to help with the cleaning.

Interestingly, educated people who learn English as a second or third language from their native language are extremely careful to speak and write correctly.

This is from a work of fiction, but I think it sums up the importance of careful use of language:

If a child is taught...that it's all right if you misspell a word occasionally, or don't always punctuate correctly, then you are teaching that child that small mistakes are okay, as long as people know pretty much what is meant. I feel this is a dangerous attitude to foster in a highly technological society, because it encourages people to think, "Well, after all, the readout is only a little bit over into the red zone. Maybe it will return to normal while I'm trying to remember which way to adjust the control. Let's see, now, was that to the left or to the right...?"

Killing fog...sounds like something I read. Steven King The Mist. Yup! The Mist, Google aids the memory fog again, oh my aching puns.

I also have problems with spelling and grammar. I'm slightly Autistic, thus came to the joys of reading and writing a fair bit later than my peers. As my brain will always be wired slightly different, I have to use different means to 'know' the keys to the puzzle to the written word. Of course, I do cheat (spell checkers, Google when Firefox flops). Grammar, for the most part, my grammar doesn't stink as hard as many peoples', and it only falls afoul of a true grammar nazi once in a while.:boxedin:

How strange: I get Akhenaten's looking-glass reference, but I genuinely have no idea what Rory's talking about.

And yet somehow he seems to think he's going to be able to tell us things about HAARP that for some reason we've been unable to see.

You ought to be very proud of your accomplishment. :)

I think what the gerg's and rorylee's of the world of the world consistently fail to realise is that a few slips of the fingers will barely draw a comment, but there are at least these three major failings that most certainly will:

1. Consistently posting utter rubbish.

eg. "ahhh back to the 'i dont understand what you saying'.. its pretty easy, work it out.. its pretty easy, nothing like a brain teaser."
That's gibberish, rorylee, whether you choose to acknowledge it or not.

2. Continuing to make the same error no matter how many times it's pointed out.

eg. "ahhh back to the 'i dont understand what you saying'.. its pretty easy, work it out.. its pretty easy, nothing like a brain teaser."

Yes, it's the same line as the previous example, but just look at it. Despite the fact that it's obvious that rorylee's apostrophe key works, given that he's used it twice, he seems to think it's cool or trendy or something to eschew its use in the appropriate places. I imagine his response to this would be "well so what.. you got the gist didn't you" Apparently the fact is lost on him that only people far more literate than himself are able to compensate for his being apostrophically challenged and he is not, as he chooses to believe, communicating effectively at all.

3. Wearing semi-literacy as some kind of badge of honour.

eg. "There are a lot of what I would term "intellectual snobs" on this website . . ."
The pot calling the kettle blak, and thinking itself clever for doing so.

Its an odd arrogance, isn't it. I am far from an expert in science but I am trying to make an effort to learn as much as I can. I try to avoid making bold statements on things I know little about but the great thing about this place is that someone with expertise will set me right. I might even learn something provided I'm willing to listen.
