H.a.a.r.p

That's the one that really annoys me. We're on the internet and people still can't be bothered to put five seconds into making sure they're not talking rubbish.

Oh, I hear that.
I mean, it's not like Google ever disappears. No one can say "Google was down, so I couldn't do the research". Even if it was, there's always Wikipedia (yes, yes, I know it sucks, but it generally has links), Bing, or Wolfram Alpha.
But there is another crowd, one who is even worse. This is the group of people who "do the research" - but their version of "research" is "accept only that which supports your opinion".

Yeah but that's besides the point he's making. He's saying that only because a theory is based on imagination and yet unproved doesn't mean it's not true. Like somebody dreaming up a round earth before everybody else and being accidentally right.

People can imagine whatever they want. If they want to tell the rest of us that that's how the world is, they need to put up some proof.

Spot on! i think it went over the others heads.

rorylee, it's very difficult to tell what you're saying. Do you not have spellcheck available, or a friend who could proofread your comments?

you're so naive.. i spose you like to think that everyone on earth is of a peaceful nature and true to themselves aswell never holding secrets... just as you like to make slight punts at ppl who dont view things the same as you lmao.. wake up not everything is as it seems..

ill say it again 'anything you can imagine we can already do it' ~ Boyd Bushman

Nothing to do with viewpoints, show me some evidence that proves that some crop circles are made by aliens.

what are you having trouble with? tell me and ill rephrase for you.

dafydd - i havent looked for it, but where/if any proof of a human doing it? has anyone caught a human on video making crop circles as big as they are and in x amount time frame?

edit, /OF just did a quick search and found this article

How do Crop Circles appear?

The majority are witless hoaxes, and experienced circle-hunters can spot them immediately. The stalks are crushed, there are footprints and even cigarette butts, and the shapes are clumsy. This isn’t scepticism – it is vandalism.

True circles are different. The stalks are weighed down, not snapped. The geometry is perfect, and the energy that bristles inside the formation can often be measured on traditional electronic equipment – it also causes many cameras and camcorders to fail. I once experimented by bending a spoon in a Wiltshire circle, and the bowl almost exploded from the handle.

Many witnesses say strange lights seem to hover over the fields, emitting a loud drone as the circles are created. This has been observed for at least 350 years, according to a pamphlet published in Civil War times, and this year circles have been found in remote Canadian wheat fields and Japanese Zen gardens. There’s good reason to suppose crop circles are a natural phenomena… except for their increasing complexity. Natural forces cannot draw windmills and Mandlebrot sets, seashell whorls and religious symbols. I am forced to the conclusion that something intelligent sometimes wields Earth’s energies. Whether that intelligence is humanity’s, or the planets, or belongs to something beyond the planet – I have not yet decided.

Yeah! Because it's totally backwards. Making stuff up and trying to prove it afterward is not really defensible, but I find it refreshing that you are conscious that it is what you are doing. It seems a lot more fun than critical thinking because it only needs whim and belief instead of demanding research and effort, but it's still not a defensible position.

ahhh comon its abit more technical then believing when you imagine you can drop a fridge from a plane and it lands perfect with cold rums in it.. its like imaging the world is round when everyone thought it was flat and some yrs later it been proven..

The fact that the Earth is round was proved hundreds of years ago so you seem to be a bit behind in your technical reading.

Is there a third-grader there who could explain punctuation and capitalization to you?
When you don't use proper grammar, spelling and punctuation it makes you look stupid. Seriously, it does.
You don't want to continue to look stupid, do you?

And there's an entire thread devoted to crop circles. You can take that nonsense there.

not wrong it been more fun =] sometimes a belief is all it takes. its good to have a mixer of both tho like yin and yang.

i dont care what i look like, im not running for president on my grammar.. but u do know its against the rules of the forum to do such things? and i know that, but im just responding to his question.. sue me.

I get so sick of this attitude that spelling, grammar and punctuation don't matter. If your thoughts are important enough to share with the world, why would you not want to present them in such a way as people can tell what it is you're saying? If someone spoke out loud in the way you're typing, you'd give them a very wide berth, not engage them in discussion on their fascinating views.

same **** all over again.. and only from skeptic people.. i think u can make sense of what im saying but would rather waste time on spelling or grammar issues then the current ones at hand cause its all you can come up with. keep wasting ur time, i dont mind seriously it brings a smile to my face =] or again tell me what didnt make sense to you and ill rephrase?
